Her unconquerable spirit is an inspiration to all of us. I don't know if she was a fan or not, but as she was a student of the University, she will always be a Ragin Cajun. Would love to see a MS helmet sticker in football as well as uniform MS patches in all of the other sports this year .... The university would be smart to dedicate some sort of honorary item (tree, building, street, etc) or maybe a section of university grounds to her memory.

She gave everything she had in fighting back, as have countless friends and strangers, many of them Ragin Cajuns, did in searching for her. I think it would be in poor taste for the university to not do anything to honor her and the many who searched and prayed for her. When I read how she fought back, I thought about the Jim Valvano ESPY awards speech, that cancer can take everything away but his spirit...Indeed, Micky's spirit remains unconquerable...She never let go of her rope!

You see these ribbons for Susan Komen foundation. I was thinking a decal, sticker or pin in the shape of a bike.

There is/was a record of bsl calling an "escort" service on the night of the kidnapping/ murder. Most of the Jennings victims were "escorts" as well. Just saying

If he was calling for an "escort"...then he was using a different level of prostitute than what the Jeff Davis Serial Killer targeted. Still...no connection.

Liked and murdered are too different things.

  7. Default A life lost, tragically, tick by tick

Torn and waterlogged fliers still cling to utility poles on many Lafayette streetcorners, imploring passersby to "Bring Mickey Home." They were posted by family, friends and community members in the days after 21-year-old Mickey Shunick went missing in the early morning hours of May 19.

Mickey Shunick is a hero by every conceivable definition.

I wish I had known her.

  10. Default Shunick's memorial pending

The family and friends of Mickey Shunick came together in the three months following the 21-year-old college student's May 19 disappearance with a single goal, to bring Mickey home.
