    Default COACH PLEASE STEP DOWN

I am watching a baseball team that has QUIT which to me is direct reflection on leadership. Dont get me wrong I think Robe has been great for the program but HE HAS TO GO. This is bad bad

UL baseball has none of it.

Seriously, I wasn't real upset that the cajuns missed the conference tourney, its a team full of young guys, in fact, I knew we were gonna have a down year. I haven't said anything, but today is an utter embarrassment. Freshman or not, you have to pretend you have a little bit of pride in your last game of the season.

Wow. Actually, It's kind of sad for Ole' Coach Robe. He has given a lot to the University but this could be the beginning of the end of the Robe Era! He sure knows how to put butts in the seats but something has really changed for him. I don't know what? Maybe he's burned out. No sense kicking someone when they are down. I wonder if he's upset that we didn't get the funding for the new facility. Understandable, he's been waiting a long time. Well at least we know not to get to excited about the future of our baseball program. Maybe a vacation is in order!!!

What coach would be able to (or want to) come in here and do a better job with the minimal budget and empty promises than Robe? Sometimes "change" only gets you Obama

He ain't going nowhere, he has seveal years left on his contract. I do believe he will not want to renew even if offered.

He has a lot of good years left in him here at UL. Just chalk it up to bad karma this year for both basketball and baseball. It happens everywhere.

No need to get down on coach just because we stunk this year.

You know, I really don't want to see him go. He deserves respect - he's earned it. But what I would like is for him to stop with the same lame excuses at the press conferences. Its getting stupid now. How 'bout - We suck this year!! See you next year! Robe is the only guy that can coach for 15 years straight and never have a mature team. Forever too young. Forget about it!

From a rellable source (inside the four walls): two weeks ago coach gathered the team together and told them the next two week will determin who will be playing next season......and by what happen the last two weeks, a few will see pink slips....

It's interesting to read the dichotomy in opinions. I can understand why. Everyone agrees with 95% of what we all observe, but there are two distinct camps on what to do about it. I'm always of the opinion you put pressure on the head. I don't think, due to quite a few issues, that there's any outside pressure that will make any improvement. If we're going to get better, it will be because Robe wants it to get better. I question how much he cares.

Oh, and you never press or push for management "change". You define what will be the improvement, and you target those objectives of "improvement". It is not just semantics. We did that with our coaching search with "Hudspeth". We had palpable objectives of improvement (head coaching experience at the collegiate level, success in that role, energy, youth, intensity, personality, character, focus, ethics, attitude, athletic looking, a son named "Gunner", hot looking wife, etc). If we don't have those with baseball, we don't have them with baseball. But again, we don't go for simply "change".

I teach a course in eliminating the use of the term "change" in reference to people. I use a machete. It's extremely effective. I get a volunteer and my assistant ties your hands together around a tree with a rope. If you ask me to improve your situation, I cut the rope. If you ask me to change your situation, I chop off one of your hands. Yes... I agree... It's brutal. Isn't it a shame that absolute truths can't find their way back to mankind without graphic illustrations?
