If the La Tech / LSUS merger didnt happen saving the state millions, you would have to think, with the current budget crisis, there is no way the state is going to hand money out to expand UL. Again, too much power in Baton Rouge to protect LSU. It is in LSUs best interest to keep La Tech and UL exactly where they are. The only thing that makes the La Tech / LSUS merger a legitimate possibilty next year, is geography and that the state / LSU will have no choice with greater budget cuts coming.

How is the "takeover" supposed to save the state money? If you ask the proponents of the Tech takeover of LSUS, they say nothing but "more funding and expansion" for LSUS. They do not say that it needs to replace many of the programs at the Ruston campus, as it logically should, in order to save the state money.

UL doesn't have to "takeover" someone else's satellite school in our very intelligent land deal in Lafayette, LA - the home of the Ragin Cajuns. The land purchase is a land investment. The state acquires this extremely valuable land with this purchase of land in the heart of Lafayette - the greatest city in Louisiana.

When UL was established in 1898 the "City" (of 4000) took charge securing and generating funds to make sure the Educational Institution came to Lafayette.

One more adjective to your quote Z, Dumb, not you Z this poster! These morons that continue to come to OUR site and call us things and expect us to be accepting to them. Is LaTech, LTUR? Is LSU, LSUAMCBR, Southeastern, SLUH, McNeese, MSULC????????? SoB, enough is enough. University of Louisiana @ Monroe uses ULM on its Athletic websites and uniforms!!!!!!!! University of Louisiana @ Lafayette uses UL on its Athletic websites and uniforms!!!! On Academic websites we use University of Louisian at Lafayette because a law says we have to and UL Monroe does the same and so does LSU Baton Rouge and all other state schools including Lousiana Tech University at Ruston but when it comes to their respective sports teams it is LSU, LT, SLU, ULM, MSU, NSU, and UL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got it, if not no wonder our state is where it is, because of everyone of you yahoo's that can't understand what was just typed prior!!!!! Come on dude I know your not dumb so stop acting like it and lets move forward and talk about how La Tech will compete now in CUSA and UL in the Belt(for Now)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The advertiser should follow its name and keep pages up longer. They could sell more advertising.

LSU is doing a med school extension on the U L campus next year! A 40 student 3 year family physician factor on U L campus with course studies. Practicals will be performed at LSU MC on Congress and Bertrand. That is expansion and in LSU's interest helping to produce more doctors in these times of austerity. U L will be a Tier 1 university soon - "SREB factor" and that includes LSU, Georgia, Florida, and the rest in the Tier 1 Universities in the Southern Regional consortium of southern states.U L
should be in the 100 PhD range per year in another 1-2 years with the new PhD programs. 3 years at 100 per year (PhD) and automatic Tier 1 status is earned!! That is the real deal!! Go Cajuns!!
