Too bad the University of Louisiana football team hasn't mastered time travel.

If coach Rickey Bustle could master the space-time continuum, he could move his Ragin' Cajun squad ahead about eight months and it could take advantage of the under-construction indoor facility that figures to be ready for next spring's drills.

Since that's not happening, the Cajuns had to be content to go indoors for the second time in three days Thursday. The squad held its practice session on the basketball courts at Bourgeois Hall, after moving to the Cajundome Convention Center for its Wednesday workout.

"Our approach is that it turns into a mental day," Bustle said after Thursday's one-hour, 40-minute workout. "But we need to be outside tomorrow and Saturday."

Heavy rains in the Acadiana area early Thursday afternoon negated an outdoor practice, and Bustle is hoping for a weather break for today's workout and a Saturday morning scripted situational scrimmage.

"It was nice all day," he said, "and around meeting time it just went south."
