I'm surprised no one has commented on this.

The headline to the right (page 25 of Times) made news it is, 5 reasons to hate LSU. (page 25 of Times)

The headdline to the left (page 24 of Times) has been invisible, University of Lafayette is a no-no for fans of the University of Louisiana.

If they really meant to throw pure mudd at LSU, if they were totally serious, why would there be this headline across the page?

A blatant UL dig, right? I'm never reading the Times again.

An honest mistake by the layout artist, most likely. Why would they take a blatant dig at UL after pages and pages of positive coverage?

The typo was certainly not a purposeful dig. In case most of you don't regular read the Times of Acadiana, it isn't fit to be used as toilet paper. They have all of one or two local columnists who contribute each week and it's mainly just advertising. Since the Times was bought out by Gannett, it's gone downhill, as has the Advertiser. Thankfully, we have The Independent to fill the vast void left by the Times. I find that there is more useful local news in The Independent than in a weeks worth of the Daily Advertiser. Gannett ought to be run out of town, they're only interested in the bottom line. The typo was a mistake because they're probably too cheap to spring for spell-check.

The Daily Advertiser has always been garbage. It was worse under local ownership. The most egregious example of unethical journalism I've ever heard of was the ex-publisher, Richard D'Aquin's suit against the Advertiser. He actually claimed that he had sold out the paper's coverage of the Icegators in return for an equity interest in the team. I could easily believe that the scumbag was that sleazy. I was a little surprised to see him admit it in open court.

WE are going to be the power in the next 4 years and it started this year when we beat LSwho and become the best football program in lOUIsiana.
