1. LSU
2. Louisiana Tech (not being in Sunbelt is worth #2)
3. Tulane (will continue to fall due to katrina)
4. UL-Lafayette (Win Sunbelt outright. Beat ULM & Tech, then we can talk)
5. UL-Monroe (Kinda funny #4 & #5 both have "Louisiana" on uniforms)
6. McNeese
7. Northwestern State
8. Grambling
9. Southern
10. Nichols State
What about last year when we beat ULM?

Not to bust your chops or anything (you've been pretty civil), but we are NOT Lafayette. We're also not the University of Lafayette. We ARE the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, or UL for short. I know most folks from BR like to needle us by adding another 'L'. That's fine, if that's what gets them off. There is another university in the northeast called Lafayette. They're the Leopards. That ain't us! Rant off.Originally Posted by TGK4LSU

Objection noted & I will try to do better in future. However, I would rather not get into the name game since reality is not an option on this board. Lets just shake hands and move on.Originally Posted by RaginFan2
Depends on if you're talking this year or the past couple of decades or so. This year I think we'll be ahead of Tulane and probably Tech. I think over the longer term, you have a pretty good ranking. We've always had a pretty up-and-down program, but the last decade was particularly tough. From about '96 to '05 was a pretty long down period. Especially the middle part when we were about as miserable as any program in America. When Bustle came aboard, the attitude started to change, even though it took a few years to actually get that winning season. From the Augie Tammirello to the Sam Robertson to the Nelson Stokely eras, we would have some good seasons interspersed with some bad ones. But from the late Stokely to early Bustle period was just depressing. Now things are really looking up! We're not there yet and we'll still probably have some bumps along the way, but it'll mostly be fun! UL fans are as pumped up as I can ever recall. I don't think expectations are through the roof (for us) yet, but they are ranging from cautiously optimistic to deliriously optimistic. Some are even suggesting a win over the Tigers (I think most of those are a bit tongue-in-cheek just to needle LSU supporters!). But most are sincerely looking for 7 to 9 wins this year. Depending on injuries and how the ball bounces, I think 7 or 8 wins is not unreasonable. If things really gel and we don't have any devastating injuries, we might be able to win a few more. I am looking forward to this season! Geaux Ragin' Cajuns!!!!Originally Posted by TGK4LSU
Good post. But I was referring to this year. I would move Tulane up over Tech if your talking about history. Not sure where ULL would be. Depends on how far back you go and what information is taken into consideration.Originally Posted by RaginFan2
I can make it real easy for you. Just say "Cajuns". I doubt anyone here would object, and its sooooo much easier than typing all those letters in the city name.Originally Posted by TGK4LSU
