I was just wondering how you guys ranked the football programs in-state. Mine would be:
1. LSU
2. Louisiana Tech
3. UL-Lafayette
4. McNeese State
5. Northwestern State
How would you see it?

ps Is UL and La Tech playing one another in '07?
pss I sent you a PM, did you check it yet?
DaddyCajun ... I don't know if they're playing next year. I did get your mail. I'm not in Ruston. I graudated from Tech in the early 1990s when Tech and you guys played every year. I wish we would renew the rivalry.Originally Posted by DaddyCajun

Tech/UL (I wish we were playing this year to see how we stack up. Given that Tech has gotten it done on the field with some decent wins over the last few years and a WAC Championship, I give the edge to Tech. I think we might be better right now, but that's subjective.
Tulane (I'd would put them 2nd, but they are dealing with a lot of stuff right now.)
ULM
Northwestern St.
I think it's a toss up after Northwestern St. McNeese is probably the frontrunner in a group that includes Nicholls St., SLU, Southern, and Grambling.
If we're ranking programs it would have to be:
LSU
Tulane
La Tech
UL
the rest
If we're ranking the teams for this year:
LSU
UL
La Tech
ULM
Tulane
I think Tech-UL would be a great matchup this season. My personal view is that Tech needs to get out of the WACky Conference and play closer to home with more regional rivals. But I am a traditionalist.Originally Posted by ATXCajun
We have to face Nebraska, Clemson and Texas A&M in the first four games. So, our record may not be all that good entering WAC play against Boise State. Go Dogs anyway!
On this year alone:
LSU
Louisiana
La Tech
Tulane
West Monroe
NWST
Nichols
McNeese
ULM
Southern
SLU
Grambling
Most would agree, given the WAC logistics. In the interim, beating Fresno or Boise from time to time will carry some weight. On the downside, the WAC decided it was a swell idea to pick up New Mexico St, Idaho, and Utah St. They did fare well in the SBC. I haven't really checked, but they must be absolutely getting drummed by the top half of the WAC.Originally Posted by TECHnicalDog
Off topic a bit, I have an acquaintance here in Austin that graduated from Tech. You wouldn't know it unless you asked him directly because considers himself an LSU fan. I found all of this out by trying to strike up a conversation about Ryan Moats. He didn't know who he was, much less that he played for Tech. Too bad. I told him he missed out.Originally Posted by TECHnicalDog
