Why do you say we are a smaller program? We are the second largest university in the Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana area. UL is much larger than Miami or Notre Dame. UL is one of 118 Division One programs in the entire country.

only one 'charter member' of 1-A has never been to a 1-A bowl. you guessed it. how much smaller could it be?

we all want them to win, get better, join a decent conference; but don't take umbrage at obvious facts just because you're partisan.

the quote doesn't deal with the school enrollment, but the size of the football program. nyu may have a million students, but that doesn't mean it has large athletic programs.

If we keep thinking like a 'small' program and keep acting like it

    that's where we'll be

As long as the State Legislative has a limit on how much money we can collect from our students that can go to the athletic department, money will always be an issue.

my pointy when is say smaller i mean the budget not the enrollment of students. when you are recruiting a player they could care less how many students are enrolled, they want to win and can you get me to the next lavel thats what they care about

POINT IS: this is all just a frame of mind. Everyday in this country businesses start with zero and become largeeeeer. Our university and its athletic budget can grow, but it begins with the mental side of all involved. Instead of we "only have" six people in the pros. The spin is we have six full or part time starters.

Its the way we perceive ourselves that must be changed, FIRST and foremost.

Student revenues don't mean a lot. We need alumni endowments and an organization like TAF at LSU. We need corporations to pour in the $ and that doesn't seem to be on the horizon.
