Thread: Lafayette Regional

  1. UL Softball Lafayette Regional

The Lafayette regional will feature two of the best three shortstops in the country ... Ashley Hansen and Nerissa Myers. The other shortstop being, of course ... Katelyn Boyd (we save that matchup for the Supers). Hansen was the National Player of the Year last season (when she hit .495 with 9 HRs), though her bat is down this season (.373, 5 HR). She is stellar defensively.

Brian the Stanford team will not be used to the high temperatures expected at Lamson Park this week end. The high temp expected to be about twenty degrees higher than the current high in San Francisco, and the humidity projected is about the same for both cities.

I am pretty sure temperature will have some effect on pitching, and the catcher as both those are high energy usage positions.

What about the other position players, any chance it creates a small mistake for that outstanding shortstop?

I mentioned the weather being somewhat of a factor on Stevie's show this morning. However, realize that the Valley is not the same climate as San Francisco. I have spent plenty of time in the entire area on business in the past. The Palo Alto/Mountain View/Sunnyvale/San Jose area is warmer than the San Francisco area. The Valley area is in the upper 70's low 80's this week.
