People worried about not hosting = people not convinced of NO Bowl berth after 6 or even 7 wins

yea but gone golphin is not piped in to everyones homes. the pos department should be wagin this fact and eat dirt latter if it doesnt happen.
We have never been in this specific position. Not last year, not the year before, not under this NCAA system. Is there a chance we're out, of course, but our numbers are too impressive to overlook. If we don't host it will be a screw job. You don't leave a top 10, top 12 or 13 RPI, #2 OOC RPI team.
Maybe I'm the overly optimistic one, but I'm forming my opinion based off what the guru has said for the last few days
i have no idea what u justn said
Let me just clarify my views on this as I probably came off wrong. I certainly can't blame fans of this university for negativity. My humble opinion is that unless the NCAA disregards all metrics and statistics that are typically weighed for seeding/hosting considerations, which would equate to being screwed, we will host next week.
My comment was mainly regarding the mood around here feeling very similar, IMO, to after our 6th win last year in FB.
We all want the same thing, and the good thing is, we get to find out tomorrow. And regardless of hosting, we have a team capable of winning damn near anywhere on earth!
Again ... so that this is clear to everyone. The Cajuns will have a Top 16 RPI. Whether that means the Cajuns are awarded a #1 seed is another question ... as is whether or not the Cajuns host a regional. I address that here.
Summary ...
#1 The Cajuns will finish in the Top 16 RPI at selection time. This has never happened in the 64-team/16 regional era.
#2 The Cajuns easily have the resume of a #1 seed. Could the committee do something quirky? Sure. But they would have some serious splainin' to do. Name me one team outside the Top 16 RPI that deserves a #1 seed over the Cajuns. You must use hard selection criteria to make your case. I challenge everyone.
#3 Now, let's assume the Cajuns are a #1 seed. Do they get to host a regional? Again, all the talk has been that the committee was going to allow all #1 seeds to host this season, provided they meet the facilities requirements. Now, if this is not true ... and the committee decides it wants a regional in some of the geographical challenged areas, then a host regional would be at risk. But I also think that there are a couple of teams below the Cajuns that would be out of a host site first.
Brian (Maybe Notre Dame hosts the Cajuns with a win over Louisville :-))
Brian, you know how much this forum hangs on your words, lol.
Some jokes can give people heart pains
