The next full-scale test for the University of Louisiana football team comes this morning, when the Ragin' Cajuns hold their second scrimmage of fall camp.
The scrimmage is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at Cajun Field and is open to the public.
"We've spent a lot of time working on some things we saw Wednesday," said Cajun coach Rickey Bustle, referring to Wednesday's first scrimmage action. "We need to be more physical, eliminate penalties and turnovers, and communicate better on defense. Mostly, we just need to be more enthusiastic."
The Cajuns prepared for the scrimmage with a full-pads workout Friday morning and a practice in shorts in the afternoon. Neither session lasted as long as planned, with Bustle knocking minutes off several periods during the morning workout.
"We did some good things," he said. "We shortened up the periods to keep it moving, but I liked some of the things I saw. Our offensive line looked like they were more ready to compete today than the defense."
