They will be ready in time. When they start with landscaping it's basically a done deal. The landscaping is nice but after a while it won't be maintained. They had tons of ornamental grass along Taft Street when they finished Baker-Huger and it's all gone now. They just don't have the resources or manpower to keep up the buildings and grounds. That has been my fear all along. They can build but they can't maintain. Just go to the Olivier Parking tower, walk through it and go in the stair wells. It's pretty dirty.
Drove down McKinley this morning, and noticed that they had a pretty big crew working on the sidewalk/landscaping, so I took a couple of pics. It must really be crunch time to be working in this weather, lol. And since it was raining I just took them from my car.
I like the new benches.....they are in pic two and kind of hard to see.
Thems not benches thems saw horses.
Seriously though I see 5 benches and they will serve as a pseudo fence along the tree line.

We are getting closer to the opening of the New Student Union. More information to come this week. #MovingForward
Would be nice to be able to tour these new buildings as they are completed! Heck it may bring in some Alumni monies, just sayin'!
I was going to take photographs this weekend but since they are so close to being finished I figured I would wait. Saturday was just one nasty day that was good for absolutely nothing. Today was not too bad and they did have some workers on site today. I don't think they will be finished for the January 7th date but they will be close. The only thing I don't look forward to is the demolition of the Guillory Hall over look of Cypress Lake. It is a favorite of many people that visit the campus. I hope they do something to replace it.
The parking garage is all but finished. They have some parking control devices to install and a little dress up but that is all.
Once these two projects are finished the only thing left on campus will be demolition of the eyesore buildings, the quad and Fletcher Hall. It will be nice to not have construction on campus after about 4 years of nonstop activity. It will be more of a college atmosphere.
