------AH WOW TOO---SO ANY IDEA WHEN THIS BABY WILL BE READY???? I would love to ask with all the stuff happening, when is the complete date of the SU, Quad, Parking garage, Bike Trail, etc expected??? Well I guess some would also want to know about some athletic facilities!!! lol
Is there a sign on the outside of the construction area saying......opening spring/summer/fall of 20......14,15?
At least I will have a clue what to expect. Granted, at least this is physically happening, unlike our thought experiment, better known as the Tier 1 project.
As covered on the Carter USA website, the project is scheduled to be delivered late in 2014.

I hope they put a focus on the Cypress lake, since it is so unique to our Campus. I loved looking out on the waters when I was there.
The whole redesign involved putting more attention on Cypress Lake. The new dining facility and union will have 2nd floor areas that overlook the lake. With moving the union building closer to McKinley, there will be a much larger area between the union and the lake. You can get an idea from the renderings on the Carter website previously listed and by Helmut's posted photos.
They are closing in the building envelope on the food service wing. Just about all the glazing is done, brick is complete and they have the metal cladding just about finished. This is from the entrance to Buchanan hall
This is the entrance to the food service wing off of Boucher Street. They have insulating sheeting over the entrances to keep the inside somewhat climate controlled. They are starting to put sheet rock on the interior walls.
A view of the McKinley street facade from the rear of McLaurin Gym.
Old brick on the left. New brick on the right.
Close up of the McKinley street entrance.
The McKinley street entrance as seen from the top of the Olivier Parking tower.
A view of the food service wing as seen from the balcony of Guillory Hall. Not much of a fan of the white metal cladding. I hope they are not finished as it does not look too good too me.
I agree with you on the white metal, thanks for the photos I always enjoy seeing the updates.
Like the brick color!!!
Idk, kind of digging that white. Gives it a little pop in places.
