Some campuses in the country are so large a parking garage at Lourdes would seem close.
How much would it cost to build one there?

There is a common misconception that all of the property at the corner of St. Mary and St. Landry is Lourdes property. The tracts of land that the Hospital is on is owned by Lourdes. The property that fronts St. Landry is owned by the Diocese of Lafayette. That land has the two Medical Office buildings, the last building that was part of the old orphanage the Imaging building behind it and the Parking Garage behind the medical Office buildings . The building that houses Affiliated Blind is also owned by the Diocese. The parking garage immediately adjacent to the old Lourdes hospital is on property owned by Lourdes and by the Diocese. (the property line is the center of the Branch of the Coulee Mine that was bridged over to build the parking garage) There is a parking garage across St. Landry that is owned by Lourdes also.
Hopefully they eliminate the gravel parking lot in front of the new computer science building and create some kind of space that integrates the park.
