I spent many a time in Gullory Hall knocking down pins. I even worked there part time while in school for a while. For those who don't remember, the University had a pretty competitive bowling team back in the day.

It WAS the old student Union or STU----When you walked in you could see the groups---Each frat had their area --the FB team and some jocks---the commuters---some sorority areas----Pep rallies were held in there and I had my first frito pie!!!
things are starting move along on the Student Union Project.
A view of the soon to be demolished middle section of the Union.
A view from the Harris Hall fire escape. this is where they will be adding on to the building.
D H Griffin equipment on site to start demo work. This is the same company that demolished to old dorms.

Wait I paid for this and I'll never get to use it
... (sarcasm off) Awesome can't wait to see the finished product.
How long do you expect them to fence off the student union like that? I'm assuming a while huh? It's getting really annoying walking around that part of campus now.
Yea I remember having to gravel it up to get to the union while they were doing the renovations to Burke Hawthorne... especially sucked on rainy days... probably a long while
I suspect it will be a good while before all the fencing is down. The fencing on Boucher Street should be moved after the drainage project is finished though. I did notice that they fenced around Buchanan Hall so they may have found some money to finish the renovation of that building with the Student Union project.
I do hope that they can do something to keep Guillory Hall. Every time I walk on campus there are always people feeding the fish from the balcony. Mostly families with kids.
Demolition of the middle section of the Student Union building has started.
This is what is left of the entrance to the Bookstore.
Same part of the building as seen from the top of Olivier Parking tower. They will not demolish the section to the right but will demolish the section to the left.
Opening up the area between the Ball room(left) and the old kitchen (Right). They will not demolish the Ball Room but the kitchen will soon be history.
Another view of the same area from the top of Olivier Parking tower.
Cypress Lake Gator catching some rays before it turns cold again.
