You know, we haven't talked about the new Union much. It's freaking awesome!

It is really freaking awesome. Anyone who not has done so already should take a walk inside and around....all the terraces that front the lake are unreal.....the ballroom, bayou bijou....the whole thing is very high-end. I have heard from several recruiters that being located right next to all the new freshmen dorms is a huge selling point: very convenient for food, coffe, books, and just hanging out. And now with the new green space and overhaul of the whole lake will make it even better.
If you haven't seen it, there is a great thread showing all the progress:

A couple of oaks transplanted from Lamson Park would make the pending green space look like it fit much better with the existing campus. JMO
I heard them working at about 6:15 this morning so I figured they were going to make a push to finish today. When I walked up at about 6:20 this evening they were taking out the last footing for old Corona Hall. All they have left to do is haul some dirt and dress out. I think they will be glad to be home by tomorrow at this time.
Hammer coming out of the hole for the last time on this job.

Dang, those pines are ugly. Need cypress or live oaks in there.
I must be the only soul that loves Pines.
Great pictures Helmut. The updates are much appreciated.
Great views, what was once the worst is now one of the best.
