Great pics, as usual. Question: do you know what the pvc pipes sticking up along the wall in the terrace area of the food wing are for? They almost look like parts of an irrigation system? And I'm still VERY curious what the plans are for an overlook....to replace the one at guillory hall.....will be.

I think they are for landscape irrigation. I could be wrong though as I did not pay too much attention to them when I was there today.

I have to say, all of the new construction looks great, and also in keeping with the overall look of the other campus facilities. We're growing and have new construction going up all over the place, and are probably the only state university that can say that.

I agree....I don't think anyone comes close to all that we have been done in the last couple of years.

When is the expected "ribbon cutting" finish date?

I was wondering this as well. I thought the projected date was November '14?? Also, I wonder what the timeframe is for moving people out of the eye sore buildings and into the Union, so that the old buildings can be torn down? Cannot wait for that day!!

I drove on Hebrard this past weekend. Once Olivier and Corona are torn down it's going to look amazing. The view of the swamp from Moody will change the whole area. I just wish they would landscape Moody a little bit.

I agree. This weekend I plan on taking some 'before' pics from several spots on Hebrard....I think it will be cool to be able to compare them to some 'after' pics once the buildings are gone and landscaping is done.

The article states the new name for the Student Union will be "The U" ... hope that doesn't mean we will now start seeing a lot of ugly orange and green stuff around!
