I think you are correct: I checked the floor plan and all I can see on the second floor in that whole wing is dining room space. But directly below it are the SGA offices, so I think the pic was mislabeled on FB.

Seems like a waste of a view for just an office. They should have used it as a room or area of passage where everyone could enjoy the view, rather than just one person sitting up in their office. It's quite beautiful

Second floor of the food service wing is indeed dining area. So the photograph appears to be the corner of the second floor immediately adjacent to Guillory Hall.

They are going through the punch list items now, (there were literally over 1000 items on the list). They are progressing nicely as I understand and it appears they should be finished sometime early next week.

They will be demolishing Guillory Hall along with the balcony over the lake and replacing the area with a plaza. They have blocked off the walkway to the balcony and as of last night there is no access to Guillory hall. There is talk of building another building in the area that will have an overlook but the person I spoke to was rather vague in the description. There is also some discussion to have a large bike parking area along with a vending area for bike supplies and air. There are scores of bikes parked at all of the new residence halls. So many that they bleed out into areas that block pedestrian traffic. I'm thinking that by this afternoon they will be removing a lot of the construction fencing and I will be able to take some photos from different locations if the weather permits.

The parking garage is finished and I hope to take photos there this weekend, again if the weather permits.

I really hope we get our overlook back, and ASAP.
Even with that loss, it is a great time in cajun nation! Can't wait to see the "U" and all the others. I'm also waiting for the new satelite pics on Google earth, etc. but i hope they don't change them until all is done. Just for old times sake, here is the before (current) pic:

It looks like they moved much of the construction fencing from the student union project to the track an field project. As of last night all the construction fencing along Boucher street and much of the fencing along McKinley has been removed. It appears that the ballroom/theater wing has a bit more to go and they have that fencing still up. The food service wing and the rest of the building (without the ballroom and theater) will be good to go next week.

Just curious if Lemoine was the contractor?

That would make sense. My company just put a large construction project that Lemoine was doing for us on hold. Because of CAPEX concerns with oil prices. I can see that they would be moving there. They are tearing down construction fencing here.

Should be able to take out the word "construction", come Monday. Can't wait to go check it out. Hopefully, my son will be using it next fall.
