I doubt that it was used under the turf fields because the gradation allows for too much material that is greater that 1/2" in size. It does not make as uniform of a surface as opposed to a grade that has more fines. I specified a grade of limestone called 0 to 1/4 for Teurlings and Clark Field and it worked fine. It made a good uniform surface that could be graded to fairly tight tolerances.

The 0 to 1/4 stone worked very well under the track that we put at Teurlings because a track needs to be graded to really fine lines. The Teurlings track can be certified for NCAA caliber events. It is a very nice track.

I like Heinz 57 on just about everything, but not on my driveway. It has sugar in it, and it attracts ants. This is my contribution to this subject.

I like the A1 aggregate myself. Not as sweet.

If subway still had A1, I would still order the steak and cheese

    Comparing Heinz-57 & A1 is comparing Apples & Oranges.

Finally some progress in getting out of the ground.

This is the new food service wing as seen from the side of Corona residence hall. Guillory hall is to the right. It has taken some time to get to this point because of all the underground water and sewer lines for the new kitchen. Storm drainage pipes are in the foreground waiting to be installed.

A view from the rear of McLauren Gym. This will give you an idea of how far the middle section of the building is being moved towards McKinley street.

    may-5-2

A view from the top of Olivier Parking tower. They are installing auger cast piles by using the rig with the ladder auger on the left.

    may-5-3

Auger cast piles installed next to the bookstore.

Good weather this past week has allowed for more progress.

They placed concrete foundation and slab for the dining area of the food service wing last week. This view is from the Harris Hall fire escape. The Kitchen area is closest to the camera. you can tell by all the pipe stub outs sticking up above the floor level.

Another view from the rear of McLauren Gym. New kitchen is closest to the camera.

View of the main portion of the building from a planter next to Cypress Lake. Bookstore is to the left and ball room is to the right.

    may-19-4

Flaming pepper scratched into a make shift door ramp. This is on one of the "eyesore" buildings and thankfully this will be demolished.

    may-19-7

A tried and true method for water level control in Cypress lake. (yes it is what you think it is but on a larger scale)

    may-19-3

Rear view of almost completed Buchanan Hall. It looks very nice.

More progress this week means they will be erecting steel pretty soon. As seen from the rear of Guillory Hall.

    may-26-7

More mechanical and plumbing work being done in the new area for the kitchen.

    may-26-3

Large chilled water lines leaving and returning to the mechanical room. As seen from the rear of McLauren Gym.

A look into the hall between the ballroom (right) and theater (left).

Buchanan Hall has turned out to be a very nice building. I understand it will be used for general office space. I don't know that for sure though.
