1 run. Wow.
I could handle a one run output and a loss is a loss is a loss. But Robe has to be steaming with what five unearned runs in one inning? So if we do not give up those gifts, and they were all pretty bad errors, maybe their pitcher feels some pressure, maybe we don't score just a single run.
Interesting stat on the telecast before the game. Robe all time is at .59+ and dropped a little last night. I recall after his first few years here he was in the upper sixty percentile. So for all those who claim we who are concerned are not reading the right stats, I think any time over a long career you continue to lose ground it is concerning. Not saying it is his fault. All the Sun Belt teams seem to be slipping in spite of better facilities. USA built a brand new one just a few years ago. I don't like it, but it is not a cheap facility. They are in a vibrant economic zone a good history yet have fallen back.
WKU, and Middle both have new baseball parks. Not blowing the cover off the Sun Belt peers.
We need a new facility, but we also need to hold all accountable. UL fans have been far too supportive to too many coaches over the years, and to to presidents and athletic directors. These coaches do not LOVE UL, almost every single one will leave at a better deal for them, and I don't blame them for that. It also means I can hold them to very high standards to continue to get my whole support without being two faced.
