Why do you think all of these trolls come out on nights like this? They get a huge kick out of seeing us all blathered up and ranting. All of this venting on a message board will make NO difference in our athletic teams. Let me repeat: ZERO difference from these boards. These are for our fans to discuss our likes and dislikes. If you want to effect change, I suggest you work on contacting the AD and the University President. THEY can make changes, not us. However, if you want to gather people from this board and get a serious letter campaign going, then you might have something. _
Ok, these are the fine folks that made the decision to snub UL in their bowl game, Louisanans to boot, make no mistake about it, the sharp pain in our back is their knife...

They had control over this and should be held accountable for their actions, if there are no consequences for these actions, it will most certainly be repeated...

As far as "griefers" coming to this board, they thrive off of grief, and there is plenty to go around, but I could care less what they have to say. Plain and simple, a bowl committee from Louisiana made a decision against an in state team. It cost the University a large sum of money, it cost the state a large sum of money, and it is completely unacceptable on all levels...

I encourage anyone and everyone to share your thoughts and comments with the folks that count, not my thoughts, your own, we owe it to them...

Second, I have no idea what your analogy has to do with anything I have said. My response to what you said was not aimed at you personally. I have been reading all of this venting tonight by various people, and I feel that much of it, while it may make us feel good right now, will do nothing but make us look like a bunch of crybabies and losers - which is oddly what the trolls always call us. I am sick of that. I just happened to be on your post when I chose to say something about it. I'm sorry if you took it personally. _

Speak your mind friend, it's all good...

I respectfully reserve the right to have my own opinion and am perfectly content for you to have one of your very own :-)

We have behaved like crybabies and losers, this is different IMO. A Louisiana based Bowl was presented with an opportunity that potentially benefited a Louisana school, the taxpayers of the state, as well as the local area merchants in Shreveport. Personally, I am certain that they made a fair and equitable decision based on the options they had available. And in an effort to clear the air, I would greatly appreciate Governor Jindal taking a close personal look into this in order to verify that my high regard for the principles employed during their decision making process are not misguided...

I think Mr. Wright Waters deserves a few letters from our administration and athletic dept. I think our alumni deserve a letter from the university with a solution and plan to the problem/debacle that happened today.

This ought to be interesting with everything that went down between I-Bowl and UL. (and by interesting I mean he will probably go and get his award and smile and wave without rocking the boat.) :-)

So you will honor one of our alumni, but we aren't good enough to play in your bowl? Hmmmm.....

He's still recouperating from arm surgery, which with some pitchers has taken up to to a couple of years to fully recover. This may work out best for him, as I think he gets his money, but allow him to negotiate with other teams once he's had a full recovery period.

May open up a spot for Danny Farquhar. He's been doing well in AA Ball (has 4 saves in his last 4 outings)! I hope he can continue to do well and get another promotion soon.

As for BJ Ryan....tough break. Supposedly he said he would do anything for the team. I believe he entered a game in the 3rd or 4th inning the other day. He didn't have much luck that day either. I hope he gets on with another team soon. (At least it will be South of the border!) It would be nice if he donated some of his 8 figure per year salary to the RCAF!!

Dang, tough break. What other former Cajuns are currently playing in MLB? I know Bako is playing for Philly.

UL Baseball B.J. Ryan is a Cub!

The Cubs have reportedly given the former Blue Jay a minor league contract. Hopefully he will tear it up in AAA and soon make his way back to the Big Leagues.
