Thread: Lanier Coleman steps up for Chance

  1. UL Football Lanier Coleman steps up for Chance

University of Louisiana offensive line coach Ron Hudson said that the competition at guard is still wide open, but right now Lanier Coleman is the guy in the cross-hairs ... the one everybody's watching ... the big question mark.

Coleman, a sophomore from New Orleans and Brother Martin High, was going to battle with Cecilia's Will Chance for starting time at right guard. That was before Chance, who played in 10 games last year at the spot, went down with an ankle injury before fall practice even began.

"I guarantee you that Lanier was hurt by that," Hudson said of Chance's injury. "He's going to get more of a chance to play, but when he heard that Will was hurt that never crossed his mind.

lanier coleman is going to be great. He is a huge man at over three hundred pounds and i think he will step up to the challenge. Injuries happen to every team the good teams always have someone to step up.

Unfortunatley someone else might have to step up as Coleman twisted his knee. Does anyone know the severity of the injury?

We argue constantly on this site with LSU fans but this is the type of post that earns more respect from each other. I to hope his injury isn't to severe but thank you for the well wishes and good luck to you as well.

Hey thanks! Believe me (honestly) I am one of the most civil people you'd ever want to meet. The hostility I sometimes express is with people that do not, will not, and CANNOT accept the opinions of others however painfull it may be. Trust me when I tell you that I've been there during the Curley and DiNardo years and no matter how hard it was to hear someone elses opinion there was really nothing that I nor anyone else could do to deny it. The same applies for the academic side also! Heck, I'll be the first to tell you that there are faults with my university. Every school has faults. What school is really perfect? Back to the topic at hand............hope the young man is OK.
Besides, I want you guys to be at full force when we meet and we stomp you in the ground. (just giving you a hard time!)
    Best of luck.
