University of Louisiana defensive coordinator Brent Pry has a goal for his half of the Ragin' Cajun football team.
Marshall Delesdernier was convinced Monday that the Cajun coaches were trying to reach that goal on the team's first day of practice.
Pry wants the Cajun defense to play at the same level it was playing in last year's final five games. UL recorded 14 sacks in the final five games and allowed only 94 points in those outings.
Delesdernier, an 11-game starter last season at defensive tackle and one of 21 seniors on this year's squad, said the pace hasn't slowed since last fall's five straight wins to end the season. In fact, it may have increased.
"We installed so much more than I'm used to today," the Metairie and Jesuit High product said after Monday's morning drills. "We had a 20-minute meeting before we went outside and then just raced through all the things we talked about in the meeting. It was like clockwork."
