Is there anything else that can go right for the University of Louisiana football team?
The squad that reports for fall drills today and hits the practice field Monday is everyone's pick to win its first-ever Sun Belt Conference outright title and play in the New Orleans Bowl.
The team has virtually all of its major cogs back from a unit that shared last year's league crown and had the program's first winning season in a decade. There really aren't many question marks ... kicker, possibly, and the eternal problem of depth in the offensive line.
They're riding a five-game winning streak into this season, the fifth-longest in the country.
Upper-class members of the team have said that more players were more involved with the summer conditioning program than at any time in recent history.
The squad has very few health issues. Virtually every member of the projected two-deep depth chart will go into Monday's 8:45 a.m. practice at full speed.
The coaching staff returns intact, a group that has led UL to an improved won-loss record each year since Rickey Bustle took over as head man.
