LOUISIANA La. – Wrapping up final preparations for the upcoming 2006 season Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns volleyball head coach Amy Kraljev announced the addition of two student-athletes to the roster on Friday.

Kraljev recently signed Teryn Clause of Lafayette (Teurlings Catholic High School) and Rachel Mauti of Mandeville (Mandeville High School) to national letters of intent to join the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Clause is a setter/defensive specialist who earned three letters at Teurlings. She earned first team All-District honors her junior and senior seasons.

She helped the Rebels to two district championships and also lettered on the track team for two years.

Mauti lettered for four seasons in volleyball and Mandeville High School. She was a member of the 2005 LHSAA Division I Volleyball State Championship squad and recently participated in the LHSAA All-Star game.

Mauti was a member of the All-District 5-A first team in 2004 and 2005. As a freshman, she played for the varsity team and was awarded MVP for Northshore Freshman Tournament in October 2000. In 2003 she was named MVP for St. Tammany Parish High School Tournament.

Mauti and Clause bring the Cajuns list of newcomers for 2006 to four. They join Texas natives Megan Gary (Dallas) and Kendra Hall (Labelle) as incoming freshmen.

The Ragin’ Cajuns report for fall drills on Tuesday, Aug. 8. The 2006 season opener is scheduled for Aug. 25 7pm as UL hosts the Capital One Classic at Earl K. Long Gym.
