It wouldn't be the first time under Robichaux.
And I agree, it should NEVER be acceptable.

I think it happened the year after the World Series run and we hosted. I had got the tournament package earleir and no Cajuns in it at home. :>( CC

This team has totally collapsed offensively. And the "we're young" BS doesn't cut it.

You are correct. I had done the same thing. To be fair, we were back in a regional the next year (the infamous 2002 lsua&m@br regional), where we had another monumental collapse.

Our pitching was depleted for the 02 regional before we even showed up. I don't remember exactly what happened but there were some injuries and our starting rotation didn't have any depth. We beat Tulane in game one and LSU in game two. Andy Gros pitched a complete game against LSU and didn't give up a run. I remember Gonegolfin and I talking about the fact that we had little left in the pen. It showed too as LSU trounced on us. We used nine pitchers in those two games.

For the 01' tournament the UL players got the "honor" of field mainteance for the tournament. You have to think that gave them motivation for the 02' season.

My take is its always something. Robichaux has more excuses than Carter has liver pills but somehow he draws fans better than any Baseball Coach we have ever had. I don't know - go figure. I think he must be a great salesman. Farmer should take some control from him and force him to get a hitting coach and give the new coach some real power in recruiting. We have got to have a more balanced team to get better.

Anyone ever wonder how much better this program would be if we could hit. Year in and year out we pitch, but if we hit...we could really dominate our conference. I think it's as glaring of a issue than ever before right now

I don't know but back in the days before Hud, a couple of local broadcasters used to have a saying about UL coaching changes . . .

"One Step Forward, Two Steps Back" . . . at least temporarily.

I don't guess it applied to the Lotiefs though.
