Thread: Will the Cajuns of 06 outrush the Cajuns of 05

  1. Default Will the Cajuns of 06 outrush the Cajuns of 05

Last year UL rushed for 2797 yards total (averaged 254 yards per game) the most in school history.

Will 2006 set a new average per game record, drop off a bit or stay the same.

In 2005 UL played in 11 games, in 2006 they play in 12 games.

I say about the same. If Babb stays healthy, I think we will throw the rock a little more than last year. Thus taking away some of the rushing totals, however I think our rushing attack will be even more powerful than in 05, just not on paper.

I think teams will play the run more this year forcing us to balance out a little. I think our running game will be better but defenses will put 9 or 10 in the box. Lets see, 12 games times about 200 yards per is 2400( not counting bowl) sounds about right. Still will lead the conference.

It does make sense that overall our rushing attack will be better, but maybe not better as far as numbers on paper. We will have much more skill and danger. Bad part is teams know about our rushing attack now. However, that will take some pressure off the passing attack and give us an advantage in that area I think.

As far as our rushing attack goes, I'm really lookin forward to seein what Deon Wallace (did I get his name right?) can do.

    God Bless

I think we will see more balance. I think the receivers are going to start consistently making plays.

Well looking at your first two games (LSU & A&M), you'll most likely be starting slowly, at least in the running game. Both have been pretty good at stuffing the run lately.

Now stopping the pass has been a whole different matter.

Well if the defense steps to the front and shuts down the other teams offense, you can bet we will have a lot more rushing yards. What would be a problem is to have a lot less on the ground and a lot more in the air. That would mean our defense has not improved.
