Suspect identified in Iberia Bank armed robbery

Lafayette police are looking for a woman they say robbed a bank. It happened in broad daylight, at the Iberia Bank on West Congress Street.
Police have issued a warrant for the woman's arrest and they say she's been in trouble with the law before. Police have identified the suspect as, 49 year old, Francis Mary Watson of Austin, Texas.
Watson is wanted for armed robbery. She entered the bank around noon, approaching the clerk with a knife, demanding cash.
"Lafayette police responded to 4010 West Congress Street regarding a bank robbery," said Cpl. Paul Mouton. "They had the employees in the bank, and they had approximately four customers inside the bank at the time of the incident."
She left the bank with an unknown amount of money in an older model buick with Texas plates.
"She just approached the clerk, so only the clerk knew exactly what was happening at the time of the robbery," said Mouton.
Watson is still on the run, if you know her whereabouts please call Lafayette police.
