I understand what your saying but they realized they had to win, and didn't schedule body bag games that would kill the morale of the team. What is better going on the road and getting pounded by say LSU and Florida, or building confidence yourself by pounding the lil guys. Thoughs games gave them momentum. if they had schedule big boys instead of portland state and northridge the record would looked kinda like a lot of the sunbelt schools even though they might win a bolw game.

Their first 3 years of 1-A, '96, '97, '98, Boise had a 5-3 record against 1-AA schools. That's pathetic. They had an overall record of 12-22. That's not good either. Those same 3 years, they loss to ARIZONA STATE, WISCONSIN, and WASHINGTON STATE twice.

So what looks better 10-2 with 2 money games losses or 8-4 with 4 money game losses. Winning helps and if you don't think that then your crazy. Look at North Texas they won 5 Sunbelt titles and 1 bowl game and look where they are at. Unless you schedule right and win games in OOC you get no respect regardless of who your coach is. Winning brings in more fans, better recruits, and more money. With wins come championships and respect.

I honestly think we are on the same page with this. We both know you have to have great leadership at coach and in higher places to make things work. But like I said you have to have a reasonable schedule going get your brains beat in week in and week out doesn't build a team that just tears it apart.our schedule this year is perfect in my opinion and I think we have a coach that will take us places.

However, that does not give you the green light to schedule Little Sisters Of The Poor for your other non-conference games. They should still be quality, yet winnable games.(Houston, Rice, Tulane, Louisiana Tech, SMU, TULSA, UTEP, Southern Miss, UAB, Memphis, Central Florida, East Carolina, Baylor, etc...)
