Josh Soto (San Juan, Puerto Rico), a 6-4, 210-pound guard-forward from the Florida Air Academy, has signed a national letter of intent to attend UL and play basketball beginning in the fall of 2012.
Josh Soto (San Juan, Puerto Rico), a 6-4, 210-pound guard-forward from the Florida Air Academy, has signed a national letter of intent to attend UL and play basketball beginning in the fall of 2012.
“The addition of Josh is an important step for our program,” head coach Bob Marlin said. “He is a swing player who can really shoot the ball from the perimeter while also being able to get to the basket off the driblle.
“I have coached a couple of players from his high school coach before and each one came to campus prepared for the collegiate level and each proved to have good careers. Hopefully, that is a good sign.”
Soto averaged almost 20 points and six rebounds a game as a senior, helping lead Florida Air Academy to a 22-4 record and the regional quarterfinals of the state playoffs.
