Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience did it again

Zydeco musician Terrance Simien has done it again. Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience's original music will be featured in another movie.
Terrance Simien has been playing music for 31 years, saying never in his wildest dreams did he see himself in this position.
"When I started playing this music if somebody would have told me all that was gonna happen, I would have looked at them like you all need some help," said Simien.
Simien and the Zydeco Experience will make an appearance in 'The Lucky One' starring Zac Efron. The band will perform its original song 'Dance Everyday' in the movie.
"This song was inspired by some of this music we heard in West Africa," said Simien. "It's kinda like a fusion between West African and South West Lousiana Creole."
Simien's last film was Disney's 'Princess and the Frog' with the song 'Gonna take you There'. He says he hopes these projects encourage more people to fall in love with zydeco music.
"We hope that it will shed a broader light not only just on us, but on zydeco music as a whole," said Simien. "This is just another opportunity not only for myself, but for our zydeco music to cross into mainstream pop."
'The Lucky One' will premiere April 20 and Simien will be going to the premier at 6:45 Friday evening at the Grand 14 on Ambassador Caffrey. He is asking for the community to join him. Simien and the Zydeco Experience has had their music featured in other movies, such as 'The Big Easy' back in 1987. And prior to being featured in Disney's 'Princess and the Frog', Simien won a Grammy for best zydeco or cajun music album in 2008.
