BATON ROUGE _ Teurlings Catholic product Benji Hebert isn't the only LHSCA All-Star looking for a collegiate home this week.
Hebert, a two-way standout for the Rebels at defensive end and fullback, hopes to impress college scouts this week and in Friday's 6:30 p.m. football showcase at LSU's Tiger Stadium.
"I've been talking to the offensive coordinator at UL," Hebert said, referring to the Cajuns' Rob Christophel. "He said they're full right now, but that if someone quit, that might open up a spot for me.
"There are going to be coaches here for the game, and if they're impressed enough to offer something, I'm open to it. We have a couple of alternates on the team who are in the same situation. There are a couple of good athletes who could show something if they get the ball or were put on the spot."
Hebert is part of a West Squad that has a heavy Acadiana area flavor to it, starting with Breaux Bridge coach Mike Mowad as the head coach and including several roster members. He's working as the starting tight end and is on standby for defense if a need arises.
