The longer the Cajuns were running the clock, the longer the Tiger offense was off the field. Pounding the ball did help in that sense and I don't remember any runners fumbling the ball.

They were wrong; but other factors caused us to have to go away from the run.

I strongly disagree with the quoted statement about game plan. I thought we had the only game plan that gave us any chance to win: run the ball, control the clock; stop the run and force LSU to be one-dimensional in their offense. We didn't lose because of gameplan; we lost because LSU was able to execute their passing game to perfection [no pressure on the QB] and create turnovers off of our passing game.

Now, that LSU was able to do that was no great surprise. They aren't in the top 10 for no reason. But if we had done as you suggest, I assure you the score would have been much worse.

Also, most of the teams we will play this year can put 8 or 9 in the box and STILL not stop our running game. It really IS that good. But we should throw a pass or two every now and then just for the shock value. lol
Problem with the offense was the penalties that took us out of 3rd and short (or medium) to third and long. On third and five, the swing pass to the back picks up the first down. It does not on third and nine. Game plan was fine, execution was poor.

Just think how much more time you could have saved if you left at half time, or even after the 1st quarter!!

or if after 50 years of handling these type crowds SOMEBODY would come up with a plan.... New Orleans handles 70,000 with ease.... 92,000 in BR contains 20,000 or so students so we are talking about the same numbers.... bottom line is incompetence of the BR and LSU A&M police forces

    I won't argue that point.

Couldn't agree more! I cursed at the TV several times after "dumb" penalties. Its tough enough to make positive yardage in good situations against a strong team; and making what could be a 3rd and 3 situation 3rd and 8 (or longer) made it very difficult to sustain drives. Now that said, this was still a 24+ point game.

I think we will have a much improved chance this weekend against aTm. I look for a close game with an opportunity for a cajun win if we just play smart football. Yes, aTm has deeper talent than we do; but if we can keep it close early on while the guys get into a comfort zone, then we have a chance.

If your players are looking at this game the way you are then the Aggies will find themselves in a world of trouble.
We havent had a dominant program since 99. But we have the same program we had in 02 when we beat the Cajuns 31-7.

If that's the case, you won't win, either.
If we arnt winning we will keep the starters in. But what im saying is we wont need to keep them in. Once we get a good lead we will give more players game time. We are saving the trick plays for hard teams like Nebraska and UT and Texas Tech. Its not smart to tip your playbook early. Fran has waited to use the fun stuff every season so far.

Im gonna go ahead and give my guess as a 35 to 14 win by A&M.

it will be tough for us to get the win but it will be way closer of a game than that. Our team this year is ten times better than our team of 02'. We were winning 3-0 at half until yall put in reggie mecneal! Our offense had 5 int and 3 fumbles i believe in that game and the score was about that much. If we minimize turn overs i think we will all be in for a treat of one hell of a ball game! I'll be there good luck to the aggies! GEAUX CAJUNS

I am very far from a coach but maybe you guys can tell me. It seemed liked Babb could maybe have ran a couple or more times to gain a few yards because he has done it plenty in the past. I was wondering if the coaches were holding him back on scrambling because of possible injury. We sure don't want him to be out for the next few games or the season
I wasn't on the field so maybe it was hard to run as an option to not finding a receiver.

I wondered that myself a couple of times. It sure looked like he was hesitant to run, and that is out of character for Babb.

I didn't find that Desormeaux scrambled either & he is more apt to do it than Babb. But LSU's defense was so much tougher than the SunBelt teams.

i think at that point in the game why risk MD getting hurt? The game was way out of reach we had no major injuries at that point. I just think Bustle didn't want his mvp getting hurt. That is right Md is going to be the MVP this year. 2 fumble recoveries already! He is going to do some special things for us this year and i don't mean at QB.
