Left the game with 5 minutes of playing time left, walked to my truck parked across Nickelson, across from the track field. Took 20 minutes to reach the bridge at I10 and home in New Iberia for 11:15. A good experience for me.
Just because you are used to getting out in a half hour or 45 minutes...then again if we only got 16000 fans average for a home game it would be possible.Originally Posted by Tripple Threat
University of Louisiana head coach Rickey Bustle was still concerned about his football team's confidence level - until Tuesday's practice.
The Cajuns went through a two-hour Tuesday session preparing for Saturday's 6 p.m. battle at Texas A&M, and Bustle now feels last weekend's 45-3 debacle against LSU is behind his team.
"I felt like they needed to just let that go," Bustle said, "and that's what we talked about before practice. You've got to put that behind you. You can't let the last game affect the next game you play."
If that was the goal of Tuesday's full-contact session, the Cajuns may have accomplished that. The squad had a spirited middle-drill session and more than its share of competition in an 11-on-11 period near the end of practice.
"I thought we had a heck of a practice," Bustle said. "When they came out they were probably still a little disappointed in last Saturday, but we talked about this weekend being another great opportunity. It's one of those games that if you win, it's in every newspaper in America the next day."
When reminded that the program's most noted home win came 10 years ago this week, against this same Texas A&M team (29-22 on Sept. 14, 1996), Bustle said that was a good example. "People still talk about that game here," he said, "and that's been 10 years ago."

Vincent carried the ball five times in the first half for yardage gains of 0, 7, 1, 1 and 1. In the third quarter, he opened with a 2-yard run, enjoyed an 8-yard jaunt but finished with his fourth 1-yard run. That's eight carries for 21 yards for a 2.6-yard average. In the first half, ULL held LSU to 22 yards on eight carries for a 2.7-yard average.
"Well he had all the carries before the line blocked anybody," Miles said. "He made some nice runs to get a little bit of yards and got a shot in the behind area."
Then Alley Broussard entered the game late in the third quarter and broke a 19-yard run. In the fourth quarter, Charles Scott enjoyed runs of 20 and 9 yards and Keiland Williams rushed for a 10-yard gain.
Vincent apparently is not going to take this sitting down. He has not missed any practice the last two days and remains the first team tailback with Jacob Hester at No. 2 and Broussard and Scott locked at No. 3.
"At this time, we wouldn't anticipate a change at tailback," said Miles, who also said UL's defense was tiring by the time the backup tailbacks entered the game. "

I was extremely happy with the running game in the first half against LSU's first defense. We did VERY well in that aspect of the game; took what they gave us and made the most of it. Now, they did not put 8 in the box to take away the run; but when you consider their team speed, they felt that they didn't have to. They were wrong; but other factors caused us to have to go away from the run.Originally Posted by RaginCajun77
I strongly disagree with the quoted statement about game plan. I thought we had the only game plan that gave us any chance to win: run the ball, control the clock; stop the run and force LSU to be one-dimensional in their offense. We didn't lose because of gameplan; we lost because LSU was able to execute their passing game to perfection [no pressure on the QB] and create turnovers off of our passing game.
Now, that LSU was able to do that was no great surprise. They aren't in the top 10 for no reason. But if we had done as you suggest, I assure you the score would have been much worse.
Also, most of the teams we will play this year can put 8 or 9 in the box and STILL not stop our running game. It really IS that good. But we should throw a pass or two every now and then just for the shock value. lol
Yo popsy, what game were you watching this past Saturday? Seriously, what game?     :confused:Originally Posted by DaddyCajun
Never said Bustle or the Team did not give it their ALL, just that certain plays or players were not used much or at all in this game! Would it have made a difference, maybe or maybe not. We might have scored, might not.Originally Posted by UL Reality
Point was that I feel Bustle and his staft felt that they have a much better shot at aTm than aLm!!!! That is it in a nut shell, and yes you know what game I watched and did so with replays on TigerVision!!
Never said UL woulda, coulda, or shoulda WON, but that Bustle held off using plays and or players in a certain role, be able to use them hopefully more affectively against aTm!!!
Hope this clears things up for you son,

not having our two starting DE's may have had something to do with no pressure on the QB also, I agree Lsu's offensive line is huge but starting out with your 2nd string DE's right off the bat does not helpOriginally Posted by nutz
