UL Football Re: UL and LSU football game sold out

I don't know about you guys but I can not make the game I have to work. I can't afford to get caught up in traffic and be late for work!

Now with the game being on TigerVision I will buy the $32 package and watch it from the comfort of my home, you know, NO beer thrown on me or my family, NO foul language bestowed upon my Cajun ears, NO fights with the Tigger fans trying to protect my family!

Don't think any of the above would happen to me, but it HAS happened to many of people I have spoken to in the past!!

Default Daddy Cajun? Exactly what is "fowl language"?

Do people cluck at you like a chicken or gobble-gobble at you like a turkey?

There's that USL edumacation coming out yet again.

I don't know if this can be compared to the football game, but I went with a fairly large group to see the Cajuns play the Tigers at the P Mac and we did not have any problems at all. In fact, most of the people I spoke with wanted to find out about our team. Their was a very large group of UL fans; it was very cool to see so much vermillion. What would be great to see is a mass gathering of all the UL fans about an hour before the game and have them all walk toward the stadium as a group . I doubt there would be much hostility if the group if large enough. Is the Alumni Association going to have a tent set up? If so, there should be some sort of organized gathering at that tent. It could be fairly intimidating and loud.

Funny "YOU" should ask, as I made a typo, damm the madness! I happen to have a degree from both UL and LSU, how about you? Your probably a student with time on your hands so you can check not only your post but those of many others. I on the other hand run three companies and work as a medical professional, as well as help coach my kids teams when needed and be a husband and a father to 3 kids(that includes homework and taxi service)!

Sorry if my not so busy schedule tripped me up and there I was again making another typo!

Well Bubba it won't be the last and isn't the first, but I can bet you better not continue in life to judge people by typo's!!

  7. Default UL-LSU game now a sellout

The only tickets remaining on sale for the Sept. 2 University of Louisiana-LSU season opener are the 440 sitting at the Cajundome ticket office. And those probably won't be around very long.

LSU director of ticket operations Brian Broussard announced on Tuesday that the 7 p.m. game at Tiger Stadium was officially a sell-out, and that the LSU ticket office had no more available for the opener. The Tigers have less than 2,500 tickets left for their Sept. 9 second home game against Arizona.

UL received an allotment of 6,800 tickets for the LSU game. UL ticket manager Shivaun Bertrand said that as of late Monday afternoon, only 440 upper-deck tickets remained from that group.

"We've had a pretty consistent sale," Bertrand said. "I'm pretty sure we'll sell out. These will be gone by the time we close out that game."

  8. UL Football Re: Countdown to Kickoff 10 days

      UL fact:
The Cajuns' 5-2 mark in Sun Belt Conference play last season included half of the win total that UL assembled in its first four years in the league. The Cajuns went 10-16 in league play from 2001-2004 before last year's co-championship season.

Default LSU Homers Attack The Times of Acadiana

The Times of Acadiana is usually a paper void of useful information. However, last week there was an amusing article about life on UL's campus, and there was a section titled "5 Reasons to Hate LSU."

Well, apparently, it's ok for LSU to hate on UL, as many of them love to do, especially Baton Rouge Publications, but they can't take it when someone with Cajun pride turns around and does the same.

Here is what the editor of the Times had to write:

Some crazy LSU woman even called and threatened him with his job.

And here is the links for the attack of letters to the editor. I did enjoy the last guy's letter.

I guess I may have to write in my two cents.

I just e-mailed this responding Letter to the Editor to the Times:

    A Bit Sensitive Aren’t We?

I was amazed at the vicious responses, though not completely surprised, to the Times of Acadiana for printing Top 5 Reasons to Hate LSU, and it was actually disgusting to read the way some immature people attacked Susan Gonzalez, even insulting her intelligence and accusing her of not being able to get into LSU.

First off, the Times of Acadiana is published in LAFAYETTE, the home of the Ragin Cajuns. Baton Rouge publications love to take cheap shots at and put down UL all the time, but yet, according to these LSU letter writers, “How dare a Lafayette publication turn around and crack a few jokes of their own?”

Second, those attacks of Mrs. Gonzalez’s intelligence were out of line. I’d be willing to bet that none of those pompous LSU responders even know her. There are plenty of people well qualified to attend LSU but chose UL for various reasons. I chose to attend UL because I grew up in Lafayette, and I decided to run track in college and represent my home university at the NCAA level. Believe me; I would have had no problem meeting the criteria to attend the “prestigious” LSU.

Finally, if UL is so “little” and “insignificant”, then why must the “big and mighty” LSU get all bent out of shape any time UL returns the favor and cracks a joke about LSU, or when UL attempts to separate itself as the second prestigious university in the state? Is there some kind of insecurity at LSU that I’m not aware of?
