Since I ride my bike daily to reds, I think it would be a good idea....As long as the bike rider doesnt get scared _____less. They are kinda loud. Just might make a rider fall off. Maybe a sidewalk? Better yet how about a loop round Laffy? Its faster for me to ride to reds then it is to drive.

    HEY 3rd Row,
they have helped us (LSU), they let us take Yvette Girouard from them.....

Rumble strips are intended for rural use since they are quite loud (much louder than they sound from inside your vehicle), especially when larger vehicles run over them. Johnston Street is bordered by a lot of residential areas. If you keep people awake at night....bad idea.

Some other municipalities are doing things to make the bike lanes more visible, such as painting them a different color with a retroreflective, no-slip surface. Some are using curbing to separate them as well.

So if they made some small enough for the bike rider to hear, the car driver wouldn't?

The idea behind rumble strips is for the driver to hear them and take action, especially in a vehicle/bicycle interaction, where the car driver is going to have 99% of the control over what happens. By the time a bicyclist hears the rumble of a vehicle barreling into their lane at 50 mph, it's probably too late for them to do anything about it. Also, quieter stips may be mistaken for something else and would probably have limited effectiveness.

What your friend 3rd row failed to mention in his post was what i said AFTER I commented HELL NO in todays environment I would not do anything to help LSU A&M.. But then I went on to say

However that could change if there were a shift in attitude... if LSUA&M simply came out and said we will take care of our own issues through our own Board of Regents and will not take any position on the Louisiana regent's actions regarding their schools.... sure I would....

That didn't fit his preconceived view of me so he left it out.....
As for Yvette.... look I loved her when she was here... Our current coach however has proven to be equally as talented and has a love for this univeristy that I thought Yvette had but clearly did not... The big office and huge budget was more important to Girouard than living what she had built.... I am pleased with how that turned out and glad YOU have her...

You can throw a legion of cops at it and you're still going to be idling for a while. There's only so many cars you can jam down a lane in an hour.
half the fans left throughout the game. what if it was nailbiter you would't get home until sunday. there just needs to be more officers controlling the traffic. a friend of mine left in the 3rd quarter and our cheerleaders made it back to lafayette before he made it to I10 that is just rediculous.

Get in a different car next time. Your friend does not know how to drive.
3 right turns will bring you back to where you started. Did you ever say to yourself "damn that looks familiar"
