Thread: 2006 LSU-45 UL-3

  1. Default Re: Babb too nervous, should have been pulled!

Well one thing was clear----We did not show near the total package on offense!!!! Thank God for that and the injury deal--I think that after we got behind so quickly we went to plan B!!! The good-We moved the ball at times and stopped their run at times!!! The bad was their long TDs--The ugly was the interceptions!!!!

You don't pull Babb in that situation. All that does is start up an unnecessary QB contraversy. Babb is the starter. He knows it, Bustle knows it and Desormeaux knows it. And he will lead us to a bowl game this year. We were not going to beat LSU, no matter who was back there. You don't sacrifice messing up the integrity of the team for basically an unwinnable game.

I realize that people might want to see Desormeaux and why not? He is electric. But realize that we will have him under the center for the next two years (knock on wood). Just be patient.

BTW, you are starting to sound a lot like an LSU fan, praising someone when they are doing well and wanting to kick someone off the team when they are doing bad. We are better than that.

LSU is a DAMN good team and I admit that Babb made some silly mistakes, but he is the most accurate passer in UL QB history and we need to ride him as much as possible. HE IS THE MAN THIS YEAR AT QB.

Are you the guy that's been hiding in the trunk of my car all this time? 90% of the fans stuck in the lot with me were LSWho fans and they were just as frustrated as we were.

Buc games in Tampa were just as big, but we got out a hell of a lot faster.

You crack me up. You hate LSU so much you try to find fault with them in everything. Of the 92,000 in Tiger Stadium there was not 20,000 students, atleast not in the student section as they do not allot that many tickets for students. Over 80% of LSU students live off campus so they would be stuck in traffic with you anyways and not just walking to their dorm. The Superdome is located next to the interstate making things easy on everybody. Read AYXCajun's post for a little common sense, something you obviously lack.

Second I do realize LSUA&M is far surperior athletically... yes some of it is budget.... some of it is tradition...you cant ignore the realities and advantages the vast amount of money your school (you did of course go there right?? or did your daddy raise you on LSU football??lol) just as I cant ignore the realities of what your tradition has meant...

What i desire is that we (UL) be allowed ot become the very best that we can be without you feeling so threatened and interfering in our ability to chase that goal.... The name issue is the most obvious... It has NOTHING to do with your status... your money... your prestege... it has EVERYTHING to do with us attempting to be he best we can be....and why is that a bad thing I ask?? Why is it that we (Louisiana) can only have 1 premier university in your mind? What is it inside of you and your 67,800 friends that are so insecure that you and the representatives you elect are so opposed to another fine, successful institution in this state?

Yes sir my name is reflective of how I feel... But sir I pay taxes (I'd venture to say much more than you do but perhaps I am wrong) to this state and f I choose to come back to that stadium again, neither you nor your 67,800 fans have much to say about it
You know I was listening to 98.1 after the game, a lot of good things talked about. One however ____ed me off. I dont know what the guy's names were. When they brought up the pregame UL party at the kathleen's big pimpin mansion. One guy asks "how long is she going to be in office for?" he had a problem with kathleen routing for HER team. then says well its only 13 more months. Really now? Come on? What does it matter that someone of status in the state of LOUISIANA doesn't throw a shindig for LSU? And pretty much want to vote her out of office for it. We should vote her out for lack of responce in the hurricane ____, not for being faithful to her HOME TOWN.

I agree, there should be more La schools with a better status among the national leaders. Its good for the STATE, not Just BATON ROUGE. Give us time, a lot of it, we will figure out a way with our little 2.9M athletic budget.

If we arnt winning we will keep the starters in. But what im saying is we wont need to keep them in. Once we get a good lead we will give more players game time. We are saving the trick plays for hard teams like Nebraska and UT and Texas Tech. Its not smart to tip your playbook early. Fran has waited to use the fun stuff every season so far.

Im gonna go ahead and give my guess as a 35 to 14 win by A&M.

LOL!!! You guys have stood still? We have improved by leaps and bounds.

Look for this game to be closer than you want, my egotistical/condescending friend.

I go to LSU games and tailgate. I go to UL games and tailgate. You want to know the major difference... there are more people at the LSU games. They have no lock on south Lousiana fun. Otherwise, I would have to say it is all about enjoying the people you are having fun with. I prefer the Ragin Cajun atmosphere... but that is just me.

'99? Please 8-4 is not dominant, especially with losses of 51-6 and 37-0.
I was at the OU debacle and it was atrocious.

Your wins that season were against Louisiana Tech, Tulsa (2-9), Southern Miss, Baylor (1-10), Kansas (5-7), Oklahoma State (5-6), Mizzou (4-7) and Texas (9-5). That's exactly ONE win against a school with a winning record from a BCS conference.

1998 was a pretty good run, though Sirr Parker did not score in OT against KSU.

To each their own. We had several Cajun fans at our tailgate who kept telling us how much fun they were having.

I had a lot of fun at LSU tailgating, I never said I didn't but I find UL tailgating a tad bit better.

I just am trying to find what makes it better. As you can tell from my user name I take my tailgating serious.

Not to belabor the point, but I live in BR and I met up with lots of my LSU friends who could not get a ticket to the LSU/UL game. This is extremely uncommon for a nonSEC game, just before kickoff. There were way more people wanting tickets that expected to get them at the game. Many co-workers and others were stating weeks before the game how easy it would be to get a ticket at the game... Not!

Regardless of setting records, the capacity then/now... this game had a personality that no other instate school, nor nonSEC team, nor unranked team game has ever had at Death Valley.
