On this score, LSU has no problem. UL DOES have a problem.
Yeah I think the original poster was talking about TAMU. There is much more alcohol outside of the student section at LSU. The student section is where they really search you and pat you down while other areas of the stadium there is no problem sneaking in alcohol. Alcohol is snuck into every stadium though.Originally Posted by ULforlife

I stand corrected again, sir. Third highest attended in one year and one game at the new capacity. Do I have it right now?Originally Posted by Turbine
Exactly. At my tailgate I had a friend from UL and she brought 3 of her friends. My friend wore a UL shirt but two of the other girls who were from UL wore LSU shirts and the third girl was from Louisiana College and wore my friend's LSU shirt. Thats a problem that will stop happening with winning seasons though so it seems as Coach Bustle and the Cajuns are on their way to helping end that problem.Originally Posted by Membertou
Haha, yes I believe you are correct now.Originally Posted by Membertou
Overall, I had a great experience. The only real negative was the traffic management. You'd think that since they'd done this gameday thing with large crowds for decades, they'd be better able to manage the traffic. It took me about 2 hours to find a parking spot after I got there around 1:30. (Also post-game, we waited for over an hour before attemptingto get to my car. That took forever, too. It was well after midnight before I got out of the traffic quagmire.) I hung out first with my son at his fraternity party by the ice cream place on campus. He's in Theta Xi at UL and they had a great turn-out. They cooked some great gumbo and jambalaya. Some of there members are fans of both schools and cut a t-shirt and a hat from each school, cut them in half and joined them together into a half&half outfit. Looked kinda interesting. Then I went over to a tailgate party with a couple of my old high school buddies who are LSU fans. Both are TAF members, one went to LSU and the other to LA Tech. We had a fun time together. I even went with them to their TAF pregame in the PMAC (it was air conditioned!). I sat with my son for the game way up in sec. 643. I saw a lot red scattered around the stadium along with the concentration in the visitors' sections.Originally Posted by Tripple Threat
After the game I heard about a little incident. One of the guys in my son's frat was arrested. The story I heard was from another guy in the frat who is now in law school at LSU. He was wearing an LSU shirt and hat. He said this guy was walking over to talk with somebody when somebody (with security presumably- but wearing an LSU pullover shirt) told him not to cross over a line. He apparently didn't hear the warning. The security guy approached and poked his fingers into the frat guy's chest knocking him backwards. This guy is a former Marine who just got back from his second tour of Iraq in Jan. Needless to say he didn't take the poke well. Several Sheriff's deputies took him down and handcuffed him, then took him away. Later he was released. I spoke with him later that night and he seemed OK.
I thought Babb played horrible for a Sr. QB. He should have been pulled from the LSU game either b/f or right after the 1st interception. He did not look like a veteran qb and Bustle should have recognized this. The fact is that we have a very qualified qb sitting second, so if things are not going Babb's way, he should be replaced immediately in order to give this team a chance to win. Either that, or a rotation game plan should be installed each week. Depending on which qb is playing better and hot, they should remain in the game. What is different in football where starting qb's are not yanked when playing poorly...this occurs nightly when coaches replace their ace pitchers in baseball.
Additionally, the offensive coach did not threaten to stretch the field and/or take shots down the field during the ENTIRE GAME. Why not? Are we simply a run option team. Seems to me if the pressure is fast by the defensive line, then the coach would get away from this play action/fake handoff ____ and try to make quick strikes to his receivers or set up the qb in shotgun w/o any fake handoffs simply to allow him more time to view down the field. I thought the coaching and game plan on offense was not well thought of and uncreative, things that need to be considered when playing a undeniably faster and better team. Anybody agree w/h my thoughts concerning the offensive play calling?
CATS (Capitol Area Transit System) told LSU on Wednesday that they were no longer running shuttle buses from around town to the stadium before and after the game so it really compounded the traffic problem. CATS said they couldnt afford it even though LSU has put up over $200,000 into the program the past two years alone.Originally Posted by RaginFan2
We had the same problem with the traffic coming out of the lot across from Sports Bar. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get out of the lot. Campus cops showed up after most of the people around us hammered them with phone calls to send traffic control.Originally Posted by RaginFan2
