Our game on the 2nd against The Citadel was a scrimmage. Next Sat against yall will be a harder scrimmage, but still not a close game.

I wouldn't be taking the Cajuns lightly Aggie. Texas A&M is not the program it once was and nobody is scared of playing the Aggies anymore. While A&M played The Citadel and will not be able to take alot from the game the Cajuns played a top 5-10 team and learned quite a bit about themselves. If your players are looking at this game the way you are then the Aggies will find themselves in a world of trouble.

  2. Default Re: Did anyone view the game like this??

I think once the game was out of reach that both coaches used the game as a practice, working on different aspects of the game that they felt needed work.

If that's the case, you won't win, either.

I don't know how to respond to this it is so silly. you guys taligate on an open field and parking lot with no tress, away from campus with about 20K (and that is pushing it) fans. You just can't accept that LSU does so many things better than UL. Okay, so I just give up. Some of your fans are just insane, you will simply just make up things to prove your pojnt.

I have heard the refrain so many times, "I really don't know why you hate LSU, we dont have anything against you (UL)"... Well a stroll around the pre-game last Saturday would prove otherwise.... Thousands of shirts proclaiming "USL..ULL..UL.. U SUCK" and "OOOHH La La.. Maybe this year" ridiculing the fact that we had not scoired against A&M in the past.... Now these were not random fans filled with alcohol.. these were pre-printed shirts... They type you see when a really big game is coming up.. I'd venture to say they wont have similar shirts when Freshno comes to town... So let's drop this hypocrisy.... Its ok... I dont like LSU.. you dont like UL... cool... but this touchy feely friendly rivals BS is just that...

    2. It is only the actions of a few..... Look I can deal with the Tiger Bait... in fact I find it rather amusing that for some reason people think that means something.... But I had 4 "F" bombs in under an hour as4 I walked with my wife, daughter and son... one over a microphone.... tothe utter joy of the hundred or so listening to the guy....My daughter was accosted face to face with a drunk saying "I cant F'ing believe you go to UL... I'd commit suicide".. First she doesn't go to UL, but that is besides the point... Her answer was classic... "Gee if thats true maybe we can get you a scholarship"...lol... There were an equal number of fans who tried to be civil.. . At our tailgaiting with my brother in law we met several nice folks.... Some just cant get it right tho...to wit: Oh the Enemy is here....lol...

    3. It is not a Top 5 pre game atmosphere.... at least in my experience... Ive been to Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State... All have made us feel welcome and at home.... Unlike our in-state "Friends"... wonder why that is... As for atmosphere my favorites are Tennessee and Ole Miss.....

    4. As much as it pains me... LSU A&M is good... very good.... I thought we would compete better than we did... But the speed of A&M is unbelievable... and not just the WR's... I saw several times when Baab or Fenroy had the corner and open field in front. thninking here is a big play.. only to see those big D-lineman close and keep it to a minimal gain or loss... So for me watching A&M is going to be painful.... Go War Eagles..........

All in all the experience was a good one.. despite my comments above.. As long as we know our place and don't respond to the A-holes, conflict can be avoided... A caller to the Talking Tigers... frequent listeners know who I am referring to... a very condescending I know better type of individual called and asked Bitter if there were any arrest or incidents... Bitter responded that he had not checked the Police Blogs but didnt think so... to which Mr. Superior Intellect responded "Well I guess the Lafayette fans were wrong again about the crowd behavior" or something similar... A conflict in that environment is but a response away... They out number us what 15 to 1??....The by word then is to ignore them.. thats what everyone says... And that there were no incidents is kudos to the restraint of the UL fanss.. not the atmosphere

So that experience is behind us.. on to the Texas campus of A&M... I am not sure a victory is out of the question.. I think the Louisiana A&M team is that good.... our defense played well against the run... Texas' A&M team will not run out the WR talent nor the QB talent that Louisiana's A&M team did so I expect a closer score... See you in College station where we can experience what a college football environment should be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your obsession with LSU is beginning to discredit the majority of your post, which usually deal with...hmmmm...hating LSU. With a user name of "IHATELASTATE", it kind of gives your true distorted feelings away. Were you abused as a child by a stepfather who was an avid LSU fan? If you want to single out a few knuckleheads, go for it. But let me point out that I had the bird stuck at me by not one but two cajun fans on the way to BR saturday. I saw a guy walking around with a red shirt with "if your not a Cajun fan, you aint Sh$t" on the front of his shirt. Another guy with "LSU sucks" on his bright red shirt. And of course, all the "LSwho" shirts. Get a life.

Second I do realize LSUA&M is far surperior athletically... yes some of it is budget.... some of it is tradition...you cant ignore the realities and advantages the vast amount of money your school (you did of course go there right?? or did your daddy raise you on LSU football??lol) just as I cant ignore the realities of what your tradition has meant...

What i desire is that we (UL) be allowed ot become the very best that we can be without you feeling so threatened and interfering in our ability to chase that goal.... The name issue is the most obvious... It has NOTHING to do with your status... your money... your prestege... it has EVERYTHING to do with us attempting to be he best we can be....and why is that a bad thing I ask?? Why is it that we (Louisiana) can only have 1 premier university in your mind? What is it inside of you and your 67,800 friends that are so insecure that you and the representatives you elect are so opposed to another fine, successful institution in this state?

Yes sir my name is reflective of how I feel... But sir I pay taxes (I'd venture to say much more than you do but perhaps I am wrong) to this state and f I choose to come back to that stadium again, neither you nor your 67,800 fans have much to say about it

Here it comes, "most of the LSU fans never went to school there." Well, you know what?, that is the measure of a strong program. The ability to draw outsiders helps increase all funding streams. maybe if the militants like you stopped demanding that UL fans support only UL you would get more fans who are not connected to the school and you would actually fill up the stadium.

As for tax dollars, My family owns a business, I own a law practice and together we pay plenty of taxes. I'll better that the average income inside tiger stadium on Sat is higher than it is in Cajunfield. Look at our luxury boxes that generate more than UL's entire revenue per game. I would also bet that there are more college grads in tiger stadium than pepperfield.

See the thing is, your attitude drives soft supporters like me away from UL.

I was born and raised in this state.... At one time, like everyone else I bled P&G... My heart ached for New Orleans a year ago...

However after everything that has gone down with LSUA&M the answer is HELL NO I wouldnt raise a hand to help... However that could change if there were a shift in attitude... if LSUA&M simply came out and said we will take care of our own issues through our own Board of Regents and will not take any position on the Louisiana regent's actions regarding their schools.... sure I would.... but man I am almost 50 years old and I have watched time and again A&M do everythingt in their power to keep us down so no I dont see that as happening

that's the truth! We're gonna shock the ags on 9-9, but I won't be surprised. ULL is gonna win the conference and be ranked by the end of the year. write it down.

Exactly like I thought. You want LSU to help out UL but "HELL NO" is your response to UL helping LSU. Seems like a one way relationship to me.
