Look we can tell by your screename that nothing about LSU was going to make you happy. your are probably one of those people who see LSU ranked higher than UL is something and you "adjust for budget or accountability" so that LSU is shown in bad light.Originally Posted by IHateLaState
I have been to most of the SEC schools and ND for a game and LSU is definately one of the best pre-game atmospheres. I have also been to ULL and McNeese games and neith holds a candle to LSU. THough, I do give McNeese credit, they do throw a good party.
I am sorry you did not like LSU, but there are 67,800 season ticket holders who would disagree. Don't ever come back. Trust me LSU does not need you. stop the militant attitude. this game should be a good indicator of the difference in the programs.
To the other cajun fans-I like the idea of LSU playing in state schools. Why give $770k to Central Mich or someone like that. Plus, it fills up the stadium for a less meaningful non-conference game.
Believe me nobody is happy playing MTSU or Appy State EVER. We give Skip and the Athletic department alot of ____ for those scheduling mistakes.Originally Posted by IHateLaState

Second I do realize LSUA&M is far surperior athletically... yes some of it is budget.... some of it is tradition...you cant ignore the realities and advantages the vast amount of money your school (you did of course go there right?? or did your daddy raise you on LSU football??lol) just as I cant ignore the realities of what your tradition has meant...
What i desire is that we (UL) be allowed ot become the very best that we can be without you feeling so threatened and interfering in our ability to chase that goal.... The name issue is the most obvious... It has NOTHING to do with your status... your money... your prestege... it has EVERYTHING to do with us attempting to be he best we can be....and why is that a bad thing I ask?? Why is it that we (Louisiana) can only have 1 premier university in your mind? What is it inside of you and your 67,800 friends that are so insecure that you and the representatives you elect are so opposed to another fine, successful institution in this state?
Yes sir my name is reflective of how I feel... But sir I pay taxes (I'd venture to say much more than you do but perhaps I am wrong) to this state and f I choose to come back to that stadium again, neither you nor your 67,800 fans have much to say about it
I disagree. UL was featured in ESPN the magazine and on the website as having some of the best tailgating in the country. And tailgating at UL although on a much smaller scale is much better than at LSU.Originally Posted by evangelinetiger
IHateLaState, I have one question for you. You talk about LSU helping out the state and Ul, Monroe, Tech, etc. but I dont believe that if UL was in the position to help LSU out that you would support it. Am I correct in this assumption?
Please tell me you are joking.Originally Posted by Clutch0364

I would love to play LSU every yeari n football because if we are going to play those type of teams for money I would prefer it there because I am able to spend a lot of time having fun with my friends.
With that said I hate playing money game even though I know they are needed. I would much rather play another mid-major school. But in baseball, mens basketball, womens basketball, and softball I would love to play LSU every year.
No I am not joking. It was either last year r the year before we were featured on ESPN for how good our tailgating is.Originally Posted by 3rdRowTailgater
I have seen it mentioned a couple times here and there throughout a few of the previous threads. I was out of town all weekend, but did see the game at a bar, until yesterday evening, and thus, missed a lot of the posts, so I am not sure if it has been talked about yet.
But, it seemed to me, at least offensively, that the Cajuns weren't really trying to put points on the board most of the game. they came out in the first quarter and a half, and did some things that looked good, they moved the ball around, and seemed to be having some rhythm and flow with the play calls. Then, it almost seemed like, after they went down by three or four TD's, Bustle stopped doing a lot of those things. Almost like it was an extra practice. Saying, here is a great defense, let's see how we perform running certain plays and how they work against this sort of speed.
Like someone else said, they didn't really run the option, didn't get the ball down field. as much as LSU fan was saying this was their practice or preseason game, that is almost what it looked like for us.
Just want to clear a few things up.
1) We dont sell beer on campus and its not allowed on campus. Except for gamedays. Then you can have as much alcohol as you want but not in the stadium itself. There is a lot of tailgating; food, kegs, iceblock-shots. Not the most rowdy tailgating, but very fun and definitly alcoholic.
2) The game on the 9th will be fun to watch but it wont be close. My mother attended USL in the 70's, so I have nothing against your school. But we play football at 2 different levels. Our game on the 2nd against The Citadel was a scrimmage. Next Sat against yall will be a harder scrimmage, but still not a close game. We wont use any trick plays, we wont use starters for more than 2 quarters, and we wont play our hardest. Everyone plays to their opponent.
3) I hope that those of you who do come to Kyle field have a good time. We are usually very friendly and respectful to other fans, unless they are wearing burnt orange and worship a cow :-) But thats another story all together.
