wow! State can throw for the big yards! JaMarcus had all day to wind up and fling the thing into the end zone where a really big guy (pick among several)could jump up and catch it. best team money can buy, I say! good for us! good for louisiana! i do wonder, though, how that rather simplistic "we are bigger, better, faster than you" tactic will play in the SEC where the receivers are not so much better, bigger, faster ...good luck. Without four big plays State would be a victor, but not a victor by such a margin as was evident in tonight's contest. it was no surprise that LSU won - they are far more talented (thanks to St. Martin Parish) than UL. UL held the line for much of the game which suprised me, I must say. State's defense will definitely need some work (except for that god-awesome secondary). geez those guys rock! Good game, much fun, all's well that ends well.

UL can run the ball? Heck yes! if that purple squad would not have been awesome (read: SEC) we would have ripped a new one! Dang, i am very hopeful for our Sunbelt prospects! the holes opened up and closed way faster than in the sunbelt and fenroy still got through a couple of times. as for state, it will probably bode well for them that they trounced a conference champ (as UL will hopefully prove to be), even if it is the sunbelt. i do have reservations about the possibility of L-State dominance in the SEC though they should have looked better - but it is a long season.

    Once again, good luck!
Its called football. The guys coming off the bench want to shine. You can't tell not to score. No harm done in this game. I think we will get better as we play more at our level.

Good luck to the Tigers for the remaining season. It isn't going to be a cake walk, but I believe you have the talent to win the rest of the way.

    Good stuff, Turbine.

I made the parallel to somebody earlier...in 2002, LSU scored 41 in the first half and Saban pretty much called the dogs off and ran the clock in the 2nd half. They could have easily hung 70 on us. Tonight, LSU obviously ran more in the 2nd half, but they never stopped being aggressive. The 45 that they scored was them pretty much scoring every point they had the ability to score. We moved the ball well at times as well. It was definitely more competitive, at least in terms of from play-to-play as opposed to just looking at the score. After getting over the initial down of the quick 14 point lead for the Tigers, it was a pretty decent game to watch, much better than the 63-3 Texas game last year.

It's going to be a good year, conference in particular. I can't wait for that Houston game though...I get the feeling it's going to be a good one.

Our secondary needs a lot or work. I enjoyed my first trip to Tiger stadium. I made some new friends over in Baton Rouge.

I really would like to see even more Cajuns and Tigers hanging out. I tailgaited with 1/3 LSU... 2/3 Cajuns and that was really fun. Tiger Stadium is awesome. LSU players looked stoked... UL players didn't look as excited before the game started. I wish they would have fed more off the crowd. #20 for UL did!

I didn't think we'd be able to run the ball at all, so that was a good surprise.
A lot of missed opportunities by us, but we broke the drought.

Well the score didn't indictate how hard UL played.

LSU looked a little sloppy dropping passes early on and that was a good thing for UL. The only problem is that when a pass was caught... our DB's could not be found. This happened all night. Russel had all day to throw and when he connected they took it to the house.

UL needed to score when they regained possession on their own 20. Missing field goals in a game like this hurt.

It sucks, because I feel we could have put at least 13 on the board tonight, but we did play hard.

I love Fenroy. I can't wait to see him plow in the Sun Belt once again. He had some nice runs. Our team looks good, but we need big work on the secondary. If we lose any games this season it will be from the secondary giving up big plays.

I don't see a win coming next week, but there is hope at the end of the tunnel. When the Sun Belt comes along e should ber eady to play.

  11. Compared to 2002 LSU scored less, UL scored more.
  12. The drought is over.
  13. UL can run the ball.
  14. This will be a fun season.
  15. Judging from what I saw of the drubbing NT and Wk got today, if yall don't win yall's conference this year, yall should be shot. Yall have a legit running game. But I had a feeling of that anyway. I know yall got beat pretty good, but yall really do have a good team. I just don't see why yall didn't throw the ball more with the success yall did have when yall did it. Good luck to yall, and to all I am glad that yall had a good time today besides the final score.

Thats right, it was a good week to be from Breaux Bridge. We put it on Lafayette High Friday and a very solid performance by Daniels, Zenon, and Alexander. How we didnt take state when we had all of the is beyond me. The only sad part about this weekend was UL not getting more points on the board. We are better than the score showed, but hey, I'm ready for TAMU now.

I was impressed and you guys looked better than I thought you would. I think you can definitly win the sun belt, and I will be pulling for you in all of the rest of your games. I hope those of you that went somewhat enjoyed yourself and I REALLY hope you beat ATM.
The Tigers were awesome once again, but yeah...we are vastly improved. We just might be very competitive the rest of the year!

    best of luck,
