Motorcyclist Recalls Crash That Nearly Killed Him; Urges Drivers To Share The Road

Nearly two weeks after a crash that nearly killed him, a Lafayette motorcyclist is hoping his story will serve as a reminder for drivers to share the road.

Chris Olsted suffered two fractured legs, including a compound fracture in the April 6th crash with an SUV on West Congress Street. The driver of the SUV was ticketed for failure to yield.

"My helmet saved my life," said Olsted.

An avid motorcyclist, Olsted believes his crash could have been prevented and is part of a bigger issue: distracted driving.
