How about the New Orleans Bourbon. Too obvious? I dunno I kinda like it lol

RC10 that would be the current team, I need a lot of bourbon to feel good after watching them win or lose. This team plays hard but no many athletes, and it shows. After Hornets and Bobcat broadcast, I watched the Clippers and Thunder. I do not even see how either the Hornets or the Bobcats stay in any area of competition.

NOLA Andrew Jacksons? Or the Jackson Squares, we could then be known as the Squares. ; )

The Bobcats don't but the Hornets do. You may think the Hornets are bad but they have nothing on the Bobcats. Due to the revolving rotation of their starting lineup the Hornets are 1 or 2 key players away from being a playoff contender again. If they pick right, that issue can be fixed with this year's draft (which is full of talent). Despite some absence of talent this is one of my favorite teams to watch in a while because of the effort they put on the floor.

You are mistaken. The Hornets are very slow very limited as pure athletes. They play at near their maximum ability and desire every game. If you saw the two games there was no way you would say the hornets play with the speed an ability of either the Thunder or Clippers. I think it is a compliment that the Hornets actually do compete game night in and night out.

There are only about four or five Hornets currently on the squad that could be high contributors on the better teams. It is a chore to watch them. It has been a chore to watch the Cajuns for two years. We win by gut effort. I like the players we have signed and expect a lot more exciting brand of ball in 2012-13 regardless of win number.

At least that is the way I see basketball. I grew up on the fast paced Bo Lamar teams, and the Marty teams later. Teams that were fun night in night out. Nobody likes a loss but almost every night the games were fun. You may see it different grinding out wins with inferior players but it may be gratifying but not exciting and fun.

OR... We could bring back the ORIGINAL professional basketball team name in New Orleans...

I remember going to some of their games with my father when I was little. Played at the old Loyola University Field House. Saw the Harlem Globetrotters for the first time there, too.

No I'm not mistaken. Maybe you need to try watching the games a little better, or maybe just more games in general because from your comments it's pretty obvious you aren't basing your "evaluations" off of a large sample size. I just counted 10 games so far this season that were lost by 4 points or less. How can you not realize that if you have a guy who can takeover a game at the end that those losses could be wins? That would put the team at 29-32 now, just shy of a playoff spot. Get another big play guy in there and you're at over 30 wins at this point in the season. You're statements imply that the Bobcats are in the same boat as the Hornets which is far from the truth. The Bobcats almost need a whole new team to be successful. The Hornets don't. They lost to the Bulls with D. Rose by 4 in Chicago back in February with 2 or 3 guys that won't even start next season. Also in their games against the Thunder they lost by 10, 10, and 8. And then against the Clippers they won by 7 and lost by 12. So I don't see much base in your argument that amazing athletes = automatic win. You need more than great athleticism to win a game and last years NBA finals proved that.

I was looking through NBA teams this morning and the origin of their current names, and I couldn't find a single franchise that changed team names years after they moved to a city. Any team that did change their name did it along with a move to a new city. Some, like the Lakers and Jazz, with ridiculous names with no association to their regions didn't change at all, but despite that those teams have very little complaints about their name. Which brings me back to my original point, what is the issue with "Hornets" to start with? I mean you could be a rock/Nugget or a type of knee trouser worn in the early 20th century/Knicks. I mean shoot, get enough hornets together and those ___ers will kill your a$s.
I don't think you can change the name until the team mascot name until it is sold or a new franchise awarded. I may be mistaken, but that's what I thought.

I thought we were talking players.

Okafor, I like him when I see him which is not too often in two seasons. Good speed a little small for center. Can play on most teams when healthy
Kaman, plays smart and hard good shooter. Makes up for lack of quickness because of basketball iq. Big guy can play on lots of teams.
Jason Smith, I like him good player quicker than Kaman, but also good shot, and basketball iq, just a tad slow, can play on lots of teams.
Eric Gordon, a very good player lots of speed and now has a bad knee, and back problems. Can he play a whole season? Yes I think he can and is the reason for the traded.

I like Ariza, and Aminu both have enough speed. Landry and Jack plenty of speed. None of the hispanic players have good speed and unfortunately right now Vasques is being picked on when he is point, Ayon looks lost, big for nothing. Belinelli good player but loses focus too often.

I have a large sample most tv games, and been to the areana 7 times three on my dollar. You are entitled to your opinion, and mine is mine. The look slow to me. I am pretty sure if you talked to NBA scouts they would never say this current Hornet team has lots of speed and athletes compared to the upper half of the league.

No doubt they play pretty well because we have an outstanding coach who makes the most out of what he is given. They might even be good enough to lose their current thrid worst record to end up fifth worse. I looked at the teams at 20 loses and the Hornets schedule. I like the Hornets for a win and a toss up in three more. I like the Kings and Cavs in one game each at best to round out their season.
