Of course we're talking about players. Hence the reason I said when I look at these supposedly "inferior" athletes and put them up against some of the best in the league once the final buzzer sounds the scoreboard says that the inferior guys don't do too bad. That is the final say so after all. That's the reason I said if you add 2 more good guys with what will probably be 2 top 10 lottery picks you will probably win 35+ games with Monty coaching. I agree on almost all of your assessments of these guys, but you originally stated that the Hornets are slow. BUT of the 11 guys you just mentioned 6 of them have "speed" according to your assessment. Although that wouldn't qualify them as a fast team, it doesn't mean that there is no hope for them or that they are even remotely close to being as bad as the Bobcats, and that is what started this argument in the first place. With Okafor being absent so often lately and Ayon's play I the floor, I really wouldn't mind losing these guys. I like Kaman and Smith as big men, and would like to see 1 or 2 reliable backups for them. Gordon is good as a 2 and should see lots of playing time next year with Beli only seeing limited time off the bench. I like Jack at the point for next year. Looking to next year, I think currently the team has about 2 or 3 solid starters and about 6 guys that are very capable off the bench. Then factor in 2 high lottery picks and a good bit of cap space and I really think this team will be in the playoffs next year. And here's the kicker, the team may not be the quickest or the most athletically gifted, but Monty will get them playing well together and they will probably beat many athletically "superior" teams with more speed than them.
Thanks for the clarification, but I'm all for keeping the Hornets name, because frankly I've been very unimpressed with some of the ideas floating around. The only one that I thought was sort of cool was the ArcAngels idea that Jay had mentioned. It's basketball themed and goes along with the Saints, which is nice because the two facilities are right next to each other and both teams are owned by the same guy. I really don't see how something like the Krewe or the Brass is a step up from the Hornets.
New Orleans Po-boys
(when the token eastern European guy comes in and out of the game... we call it with and without Mayo)
New Orleans Lucky Dogs
(the top scorer of the night is the Hot Dog of the Game)
What?! No... I have not been drinking... yet.
The "Big Easy Beignets"
If they play up to their name there will be no hole on the middle and they will cover you like Like a sugar rush.
What about Bounty Hunters?
just saw two names that made me wanna vomit, the "cajuns" and the "zydeco"...seriously dude, leave our coolness alone for once.
