I'd prefer if they went with something historical that doesn't involve Mardi Gras or hurricanes. WWII museum is in NOLA because the U boats that enabled us to storm the beaches and eventually win the war were designed and manufactured in NOLA. Something along those lines?

Lots of soccer teams in Europe also field teams in other sports including basketball that all share the name of the soccer team. So It wouldn't be completely out of the ordinary.

There are a few NBA teams that I can think of that have names that make absolutely no sense, like the Jazz and the Lakers. Also there are some that seem like randomly chosen animals, such as the Raptors, Grizzlies, and Bobcats. I think most of these teams are content with their names. I don't get what's the big issue with the Hornets.
