Babb, UL senior quarterback Jerry Babb and Cajun wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Brian Crist got a chance to see quarterbacks of the past, present and future over the past weekend.

Both served as staff members at the Manning Passing Academy held at Nicholls State in Thibodaux, part of a group that worked with over 1,000 high school-aged football players at the three-day event.

"It was a great camp," Crist said. "The Mannings do a fantastic job of running it, the kids get a lot of good coaching and they get to hear and see a lot of pro players and coaches and a lot of well-known college players and coaches."

The academy was begun 11 years ago by former New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning to help high school players work on passing, receiving and running skills.

Now Archie's sons, including Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts and Eli of the New York Giants, are intimately involved. Babb worked with groups of young quarterbacks and Crist with receivers in three sessions Friday and Saturday and a final session Sunday morning.

Babb also took part in a passing exhibition that drew cheers Saturday afternoon from the campers, who represented 44 states.
