Thread: 2006 Football Predictions (merged)

Default Re: Can we win the first two......

Haha I was doin these scenarios about the ul-lsu game and I kept saying that we'd have Tropical storm like conditions... 35mph winds and pooring rain. UL edges LSU 21-20 because they botch an extra point kick..... would be so sweet.

If it doesn't rain I think the game will be more like 42-10.

aTm ... never say never.... we did it before, but we will be playing there. I think we honestly lose this one too.

As for Houston I agree with all.... we need to win this one... our season will start soon after. The first games don't mean anything when it comes to playing in the New Orleans Bowl. Let's take it to the Sun Belt. We can win em all, but the conference has been known to be tight... any game can be won by any team.

i have confidence in your idea with the rain, our team can run it down thier throats. as for against A&M, i was at the last aTm game when i was in the band, we were winning 3-0 for most of the first half, with fumbling 3 times inside thier 20. this is a better team we have now, its going to happen.

isn't it impossible to get a triple play if there's only one man on?

  4. Default Maybe ULL can stay close to TAMU........

but in the end TAMU will win by 14-17 points.

ULL will lose to LSU by 24-28 points if they play well. If ULL makes a few mistakes & gives up a couple of cheap scores the wheels could then absolutely come off. If that occurs, LSU could win by 45-50.

The talent differential is truly that large. No joke.

No offense but this is reality folks.

Thanks for being relatively civil, but we aint nearly as awful as we were last time we met. Dont believe you guys are much better than you were then either.

We also wont be coming off of a direct hit hurricane like last time.

If we lose by 40-50 then we havent made any progress at all talent wise.

Could easily be a 20 pt game.

    TAMU will be reatively close.

I hope for an injury free game.

  6. Default ULL was 6-5 last season and ULL's six wins.....

were against NSU; Middle Tenn; Troy; N. Texas; Fla. Int; and ULM.
Uh, well not exactly "murders row".

The COMBINED RECORDS of the six teams ULL beat last season was a
whopping 25-41. Not one of the teams ULL managed to defeat had a winning season.

The LSU game will more than likely be pretty much well in hand for the Tigers by halftime. This just is not a good matchup for ULL at all. In fact, I wish LSU would just do away with playing the in-state shools on a regular basis. It serves no purpose at all.

The post wasn't about last years record it was can the Cajuns win the first two this year. But thank you for come onto a Cajun fan board and putting us collectively in our places. My other lsu a&m friends never taught me any better.

I know... I mean why should all that money from tickets sales from residents of Louisiana go to other schools in Louisiana. The Millions should go to schools like Appalacian St and Oregon St., not rich schools like that University 50 miles west or that one in Lake Charles. They've got monnies comming out the a**)s. Poor Oregon St; not only are they a bottom feeder in a western conference, I heard that their state got hit by two hurricanes last year. They need all the help a Mighty flagship can give.

For what it's worth, here my prediction. Cajuns keep it close the first two quarters. Babb leads a high powered offense to three first half scores but the tigers keep pace and then rally to score 24 before the half ends. The tigers defense finally show up in the begining of the third quarter(Les Miles sucks on defense and it shows). The tigers goes up 10 and their defense holds and then their offense drives across the 50 yard line. The tigers are looking to pad the lead and coast the rest of the way but.... Ohhh noo JaMarcus Russel makes a bonehead play and throws right into the teeth of DBU. The Cajuns take advantage and after a steady diet of Fenroy and Wallace, cut the lead back to 3 to end the quarter. Start of 4th and Miles finally makes the right adjustment and Matt Flynn takes over. The tigers start to pull away after that as Cajuns become exhausted for giving everything they got.

The aTm game depends on how this team reacts after a heartbreaking loss and how quickly they recover. Remember after the Texas game how long it took the Cajun players and the fans to get that winning attitude back. That coupled with the UCF game really hurt. But remember, despite what the corndogs will have you believe... LSU is not anywhere near Texas.

Just my feelings but yes anything can happen.

Are you saying we are worse than we were 4(?) years ago, and that ya'll are that much better?

Trust me, you arent Texas. Heck, you arent even USC.
