The COMBINED RECORDS of the six teams UL beat last season was a
whopping 25-41. Not one of the teams UL managed to defeat had a winning season.

The LSU game will more than likely be pretty much well in hand for the Tigers by halftime. This just is not a good matchup for UL at all. In fact, I wish LSU would just do away with playing the in-state shools on a regular basis. It serves no purpose at all.

Keep in mind that the score in 2002 was 48 to 0. Yes, we did not beat strong teams last year. However in 2002, the overall record was much worse than in 2005. LSU may be better than in 2002 this year, but our team is much better than the 2002 squad. I agree it is a tough matchup for the Cajuns, but I can't see how it will be worse than in 2002By the way, if LSU does not play state schools, who will they play for the "rent-a'wins" that all BCS schools play.
It will be teams comparable to the state schools. If you want to do away with rent a wins, then you will not have as many home games as you will have to play home and home with other major programs. That will cause a loss in revenue and the overall record will suffer.

For what it's worth, here my prediction. Cajuns keep it close the first two quarters. Babb leads a high powered offense to three first half scores but the tigers keep pace and then rally to score 24 before the half ends. The tigers defense finally show up in the begining of the third quarter(Les Miles sucks on defense and it shows). The tigers goes up 10 and their defense holds and then their offense drives across the 50 yard line. The tigers are looking to pad the lead and coast the rest of the way but.... Ohhh noo JaMarcus Russel makes a bonehead play and throws right into the teeth of DBU. The Cajuns take advantage and after a steady diet of Fenroy and Wallace, cut the lead back to 3 to end the quarter. Start of 4th and Miles finally makes the right adjustment and Matt Flynn takes over. The tigers start to pull away after that as Cajuns become exhausted for giving everything they got.

The aTm game depends on how this team reacts after a heartbreaking loss and how quickly they recover. Remember after the Texas game how long it took the Cajun players and the fans to get that winning attitude back. That coupled with the UCF game really hurt. But remember, despite what the corndogs will have you believe... LSU is not anywhere near Texas.

Just my feelings but yes anything can happen.

Seriously joe, do you really think the cajuns will be able to just ram it down the throats of the Tigers? Unless a passing game is found somewhere, teams will "stack the line" and dare the cajuns to throw the ball. Look at the competition that fenroy played against last year vs. the competitioin of the first two opponents. NO COMPARISON. There is a major drop in talent between the SEC & big 12 vs. the sunbelt. I will make a bold prediction and say that neither wallace or fenroy will crack the 100 yd mark vs. the Tigers. If I am wrong, I will admit it. However, I really don't see that happening. The talent level between the cajuns and the first two opponents are a whole universe apart. It seems to apparently be getting better, but still a long way to go. The only thing that I can see that can remotely help the cajuns is that it will be the first game of the season for both and that the cajuns will be more fired up to play LSU than LSU is to play the cajuns. Time will tell in a few short weeks, but I wouldn't bet the house nor get my hopes up for any sort of "W's" for the first 2 games and maybe the first 3. On a side note, it will not matter if it is Russell, Flynn, or Perilloux that plays quarterback. The supporting cast for the quarterbacks can make up for a lot of "bonehead" plays, especially when playing against inferior talent. Sorry but that's the truth and it's a tough pill to swallow. Now, all of you can feel free to bash and disect my post as you see fit but it still will not change the outcome of either game, nor will it add any "extra" talent to the cajun roster.

All I know is this....with those lovely seats that the State A&M athletic department provided us with, at least sitting up on the roof, us Cajun fans will have front row seats of watching the A&M fans jumping off after they blew their national championship hopes!

why dont you wake up and realize that you dont know much about the Cajuns?

First of all, Deon Wallace did not even play last year. He was red-shirted.

Second of all, Tyrell Fenroy did not start the first two games last year. Yes, that includes Texas.

Third, Fenroy and Wallace don't need to get 100 yards each for us to beat aLm. They only need to run.

we aren't betting our lives on the Cajuns winning the first two games, we are only making comparisons. I dont think ANYONE saw the Cajuns beating Texas A&M in 1996. so let's just see what happens

but in the end TAMU will win by 14-17 points.

ULL will lose to LSU by 24-28 points if they play well. If UL makes a few mistakes & gives up a couple of cheap scores the wheels could then absolutely come off. If that occurs, LSU could win by 45-50.

The talent differential is truly that large. No joke.

No offense but this is reality folks.

Why a non-supporter of UL would come to this forum is beyond me, but he is most likely correct. I would love nothing more than to give LSU a run for their money, but if we turnover the ball a lot we will get pummelled. Lets hope we can stay within a couple of TD's - that would be a big step forward for UL.
