Robe needs to go out and hire 1 good recruiter for hitters, hire a good hitting coach and get out of his way, he can continue to recruit pitchers and coach the pitching staff, and for god sake stop bunting early in the games especially with your fastest runner (Bowman who has a career 90% steal success rate) on first!!!

I never said he should go (go reread my post) and I happen to like Robe for many reasons such as the man he is and I really enjoy his shows on Saturday with Mr. Bitter. He runs a good clean program and does an excellent job with the pitching staff and has won his share of games. But I will say that more years than not we have underachieved lately considering our support as fans to the program. We have lost like 9 straight to SLU and we have struggled at the plate with the bats for a few years now. I enjoy good quality pitching and defense but our bats down right suck. Sorry for the the rant and I don't do it often, but for the first time since becoming a fan in the mid to late 90's I am not rushing to Lafayette from Jennings to watch this brand of baseball and I enjoy the softball games more so. Having said that I am still a fan and pay for season tickets and buy my share of beer at the games I attend, but I may be more inclined to listen on the radio. I guess they haven't played up to my expectations for the past couple of years. I do think the future looks a little better but we still need a little more meat in the line up. Geaux Cajuns!

We all know what Robe is capable of as a coach. It's frustrating to all of us when we don't see what we know he can do. I'm sure it's getting to him too.

We all know its about money he who has the most usually wins. Robe has built this program to what it is. I dont think he is slacking but I dont see a new stadium in the near future either. I have some close contacts with the baseball program and when they tell me they are not hearing anything about the stadium upgrades I am worried. Tony will get us turned around I truly believe that. I also know that we will not get a better coach than Tony for what we pay.

Well, what I've heard 'from this forum" is that after the last pitch this season work will begin on renovations.. have you heard something different?

That is what I was hearing also but now I am being told by some of my buddies they are not hearing anything so not sure what is going to happen. I dont think we have the money is just my guess.

What I have heard about the new stadium is that a major donor has not put up his money. I think there is a problem with the wife/girlfriend not wanting him to give so much. Plans are drawn up and ready to go. Money, Money and Money is the problem right now.
