That hurts. I have a bad feeling we're going to be sweating out the host selection sites.

I am no numbers expert but I would bet we still host with 5 or less loses especially with a conference championship regular season and tournament. Now for a national seed we may be done and I think gonegolfin will tell us it is now not likely but I think with just 2 loses we still have a very good chance especially if we keep our non-conference winning percentage perfect and remain in the top 8 in the polls. Time will tell be we definetly lost some ground today and our margin of error is much slimmer!

I think we have a chance to be a national seed with two losses. I do not think we will be Top 8 RPI, but that does not mean we cannot be a national seed. I think it would be difficult to be a national seed with three losses. But part of this is dependent on the play of others.

We need to win tomorrow. Just keep winning and make the selection committee make the tough decisions.

If we win tomorrow and sweep Middle Tennessee this weekend, our Adjusted RPI falls to .6697 (from .6830) ... holding everything else constant (and those other numbers will change, but we are not projecting those). An Adjusted RPI of .6697 would have been good for an RPI rank of 10 in this past Monday's NCAA RPI rankings. Simply playing the Middle Tennessee series really hurts the Cajuns. Winning tomorrow and not playing Middle Tennessee would result in an Adjusted RPI of .6758 (holding OWP constant). So, playing Middle is good for a .0061 fall if you win all three.

Semi humorous...The Lotiefs have had the Softball team in the NCAA tourney every year since forever. Facing extremely tough competition for recruits.
